While prepregnancy overweight or obesity is known to negatively impact maternal health, its effect on twin infants not well understood. Therefore, we conducted a nationwide, multicenter retrospective study investigate the association between weight and health outcomes in twins. This collected data from 22 healthcare units across 12 regions China January 2018 December 2020. To control for confounding factors, multiple logistic regression, propensity score matching (PSM), inverse probability of treatment weighting (IPTW), overlapping models (OW) were applied explore effects BMI Apgar scores other outcomes. After screening, total 4,724 women with pregnancies 9,448 newborns included study. Compared normal weight, overweight/obesity significantly increased risk gestational hypertension diabetes mothers [adjusted OR (95% CI): 1.85 (1.55-2.21) 1.49 (1.27-1.74), respectively]. It also incidence twins 1-min ≤7, whether they larger smaller [1.60 (1.20-2.13) 1.45 (1.09-1.92), Sensitivity analyses using PSM 1.55 (1.07-2.25)], IPTW [1.67 (1.31-2.12) 1.48 (1.17-1.87)], OW [1.65 (1.08-2.57) 1.47 (0.97-2.25)] confirmed stability these results. However, it did affect likelihood 5-min ≤7 0.82 (0.24-2.17) 1.40 (0.70-2.73)]. In contrast, underweight was associated reduced 0.56 (0.32-0.92) 0.58 (0.34-0.94)], but had no 0.22 (0.01-1.08)]. Prepregnancy birth discordance, NICU admission, preterm birth, low weight. Maternal before pregnancy increases hypertensive disorders raises having score. significant observed. These findings highlight importance managing ensuring readiness neonatal resuscitation during delivery.

Objectives Virtual reality (VR) offers the potential to provide a lifelike, safe, and interactive environment where healthcare providers can practice refresh their skills. The Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) is an evidence-based standardized approach for training on resuscitation of newborn VR be applied. Here we describe development study VR-NRP simulation. This contribution relevant researchers developers in health sector interested integration other extended (XR) technologies medical education training. Methods For implementation simulation, used Unity game engine, VR-capable laptop, HTC Vive Pro Head-Mounted Display. We focused skill positive pressure ventilation (PPV) using bag mask as main scenario simulation since this foundational NRP. To validate prototype, compared with 360° immersive videos crossover involving 30 health-care students, collecting various data through questionnaires assessments by NRP instructors. Results described detail creation process which highly realistic was produced reflecting visual elements sounds Intensive Care Unit hospital setting. In study, found both were positively viewed professionals performed very similarly. However, provided significantly increased feeling presence. Participants more useful reported higher confidence skills such proper placement response evaluation, improved experiential learning outcomes. Conclusion research represents step forward understanding how developed applied effective, training, increasing availability refresher sessions, providing insights into similar applications.
