Abstract Background Neuroimaging studies have provided valuable insights into the macroscale impacts of antidepressants on brain functions in patients with major depressive disorder. However, findings individual are inconsistent. Here, we aimed to provide a quantitative synthesis literature identify convergence reported at both regional and network levels examine their associations neurotransmitter systems. Methods Through comprehensive search PubMed Scopus databases, reviewed 5258 abstracts identified 36 eligible functional neuroimaging antidepressant effects Activation likelihood estimation was used investigate foci effects, followed by decoding connectivity mapping convergent clusters. Additionally, utilizing group-averaged data from Human Connectome Project, assessed resting-state patterns foci. Next, compared circuit circuits targeted transcranial magnetic stimulation therapy. Last, studied association network-level maps selected receptors/transporters maps. Results No found across treatment-associated alterations imaging. Subgroup analysis Treated > Untreated contrast revealed cluster left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, which associated working memory attention behavioral domains. Moreover, more prominent frontoparietal areas. This co-aligned “anti-subgenual” “Beam F3” We observed no significant correlations between our meta-analytic receptors/transporters. Conclusion Our highlight importance cortex therapeutic antidepressants, may relate role improving executive emotional processing.

Emerging evidence increasingly suggests that poor sleep quality is associated with depressive symptoms. The hippocampus might play a crucial role in the interplay between disturbance and symptomatology, e.g., hippocampal atrophy typically seen both insomnia disorder depression. Thus, examining of volume symptoms large healthy populations vital. We investigated association self-reported quality, symptoms, total subfields' volumes 1603 young adults from Behavioral Brain Research Project. Mediation analysis explored mediating Self-reported were positively correlated. In addition, it negatively related to three subfields but not volume. particular, subfield DG CA4 mediated interrelationship Our findings improved current understanding relationship disturbance, populations. Considering neurogenesis, our results suggest may contribute depression through reduction leading impaired neurogenesis which for regulation mood.

Background This study investigates the effect of Edgeworthia chrysantha Lindl. on expression brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and its receptor tyrosine kinase B (TrkB) in hippocampus cortex depression model rats. Methods A chronic unpredictable stress-induced was used, behavior changes animals as well levels BDNF TrkB were measured all groups (normal control, model, venlafaxine hydrochloride, (100, 50, 25 mg·kg −1 ) dose groups). Results Our results revealed that scores horizontal vertical movements open field experiment significantly decreased group compared to normal control. Besides, expressions On other hand, treatment with Lindl improved depressive increased rats group. Conclusion demonstrates potential antidepressant effects, possibly mediated by upregulation expression, highlighting neuroprotective properties.

Background/Objectives: Treatment with aromatase inhibitors can worsen frailty syndrome and psychological symptoms in women diagnosed breast cancer (BC) receiving these drugs to prevent recurrence. We analyze whether postmenopausal localized BC (AIs) treatment achieve improvements their mental health level of through a multimodal program that includes supervised physical exercise education workshops. Methods: A total 52 prior diagnosis hormonal AIs were included the evaluated before after it. The assessment following five (FS) criteria: involuntary weight loss, weakness, low activity, slow gait speed, muscle strength. Mental was assessed using Goldberg scale, its subscales for anxiety depressive symptoms. Athens scale used assess subjective sleep quality. Results: There significant difference number robust, pre-frail frail compared baseline. Six did not fulfill any criteria (robust) FS (11.5%), thirty-three (63.5%) FS. 33 met one or two (pre-frail) program, 18 (34.6%) program; thirteen (25%) three more (frail) (1.9%) it (p < 0.001). statistically improvement on observed (on both symptoms) also noted insomnia multivariate regression model analysis identified marital status (being married) = 0.047, beta coefficient= −0.249, 95% CI −1.4844–−0.14) percentage attendance at training sessions 0.041, coefficient −0.290, 0.104–0.002) as associated variables, lower score depression subscale. Conclusions: frailty, common AI, be improved programs education.

Motor performance (MP) is essential for functional independence and well-being, particularly in later life. However, the relationship between behavioural aspects such as sleep quality depressive symptoms, which contribute to MP, underlying structural brain substrates of their interplay remains unclear. This study used three population-based cohorts younger older adults (n=1,950) from Human Connectome Project-Young Adult (HCP-YA), HCP-Aging (HCP-A), enhanced Nathan Kline Institute-Rockland sample (eNKI-RS). Several canonical correlation analyses were computed within a machine learning framework assess associations each domains (sleep quality, grey matter volume (GMV)) MP. The HCP-YA showed progressively stronger MP domain: symptoms (unexpectedly positive, r=0.13, SD=0.06), (r=0.17, SD=0.05), GMV (r=0.19, SD=0.06). Combining significantly improved correlations (r=0.25, while addition exhibited no further increase (r=0.23, In young adults, better mild several regions associated with was conceptually replicated eNKI-RS cohort. HCP-Aging, fewer increased Robust multivariate observed well age-related variations these factors. Future studies should explore consider interventions targeting mental health test potential effects on across lifespan.

Abstract Objectives Normal sleep is crucial for brain health. Recent studies have reported robust associations between disturbance and various structural functional traits. However, the complex interplay health macro-scale organization remains inconclusive. In this study, we aimed to uncover links imaging features diverse health-related characteristics by means of Machine Learning (ML). Methods We used 28,088 participants from UK Biobank calculate 4677 neuroimaging markers. Then, employed them predict self-reported insomnia symptoms, duration, easiness getting up in morning, chronotype, daily nap, daytime sleepiness, snoring. built seven different linear nonlinear ML models each characteristic assess their predictability. Results performed an extensive analysis that involved more than 100,000 hours computing. observed relatively low performance predicting all (e.g., balanced accuracy ranging 0.50-0.59). Across models, best achieved was 0.59, using a Linear SVM morning. Conclusions The capability multimodal markers characteristics, even under optimization large population sample suggests relationship organization.
