Climate change associated with human activities alters marine ecosystems and causes imbalances abrupt changes in sea conditions. Scarce freshwater resources for consumption often prompt the construction of desalination plants, which discharge significant amounts brine into sea, potentially elevating salinity levels. Furthermore, global trade together higher temperature pollution can facilitate spread parasites. The aim this study was to assess potential effects salinity, an abiotic stressor, Scaphanocephalus sp. parasitic infection responsible black spot disease, a biotic on Coris julis, common fish Balearic Islands (Spain). Fish were sampled from area affected by plant, one high rate parasite control area, biomarkers analysed liver, gills epithelial mucosa. Both induced increases catalase (CAT) glutathione s-transferase while superoxide dismutase (SOD) did not show changes. evident greater extent increase activity all enzymes, as well production reactive species. mainly observed mucus CAT SOD activities. Regarding immune response markers mucus, both stressors lysozyme alkaline phosphatase activities, case parasite, also immunoglobulins. Malondialdehyde, indicator oxidative damage, remained unchanged. In conclusion, stress induce situation C. julis that responds activating its antioxidant defence mechanisms but does cause damage. differential tissue different highlights value analysing multiple tissues detect early indicators diverse impacts fauna.

Myopia can impact an individual's quality of life and induce multiple complications. In this study, we randomly divided guinea pigs into the normal control (NC) group, lens-induced myopia (LIM) plus l-arginine injection (l-Arg) saline (NaCl) group. The animals in each group received relevant treatments. results showed that was deeper LIM l-Arg groups compared with NC NaCl groups. Our experimental suggest excessive supplement will onset a MEK-ERK cascade stimulates downstream nNOS-MMP2 NRF2-KEAP1 signaling pathways, which is accompanied by inflammatory responses, fibrosis changes, oxidative stress. After receiving arginine supplements, individuals myopic shifts similar pathological state as conclusion, may be danger factor for onset.
