Copper-based pesticides are extensively used in agriculture, yet their impacts on beneficial insects remain poorly understood. Here, we investigate how cupric chloride exposure affects the gut microbiome of Bombyx mori, a model organism crucial for silk production. Using 16S rRNA sequencing, analyzed bacterial communities fifth-instar silkworm larvae exposed to different concentrations (0, 4, and 8 g/kg) an artificial diet. The high-dose dramatically altered microbial diversity community structure, where Bacteroidota abundance decreased from 50.43% 23.50%, while Firmicutes increased 0.93% 18.92%. A network analysis revealed complex interactions between genera, with Proteobacteria emerging as key players response copper stress. functional prediction indicated significant shifts metabolic pathways genetic information processing group. Notably, low-dose treatment induced minimal changes both taxonomic composition predicted functions, suggesting threshold effect exposure. Our findings provide novel insights into agricultural chemicals influence insect microbiota highlight potential implications health This work contributes understanding ecological copper-based may inform evidence-based policies use sericulture regions.

Plankton, comprising phytoplankton and zooplankton, are the primary food sources for marine fish shellfish in their early larval stages, supplying essential nutrients energy growth development. This chapter provides an overview of vital role plankton nutrition larvae hatcheries. explores nutritional biochemical composition plankton, stressing high quantities proteins, lipids, vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, all which very critical stages. addresses specific dietary requirements larvae, highlighting importance diets development survival. also looks at challenges considerations associated with producing utilizing zooplankton emphasizes as a crucial component feeding, hence helping to success aquaculture production wild conservation.

The gut–liver axis is essential in animal disease and health. However, the role of anti-disease mechanism disease-resistant grass carp (DRGC) derived from backcross female gynogenetic (GGC) male (GC) remains unclear. This study analyzed changes gut histopathology, fecal intestinal microflora metabolites, liver transcriptome between GC DRGC. Histological analysis revealed significant differences DRGC GC. In addition, microbial community analyses indicated that hybridization induced microbiome variation by significantly increasing proportion Firmicutes Bacteroidota Metabolomic data hybridization-induced metabolic change was probably characterized being related to taurocholate sphinganine Transcriptome suggested enhanced resistance primarily attributed immune-related genes (SHMT2, GOT1, ACACA, DLAT, GPIA, TALDO1, G6PD, FASN). Spearman’s correlation a association microbiota, genes, metabolites. Collectively, axis, through interconnected microbiome–metabolite–gene pathway, may play crucial greater DRGC, offering valuable insights for advancing cultivation industry.
