Abstract Objectives Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is the most prevalent neurodevelopmental condition in Australia, with one 20 children diagnosed. Air pollutants have been associated poorer child outcomes. This systematic review and meta-analysis aims to determine association between particulate matter (PM 2.5 , PM 10 ), nitrogen oxide (NO x ) exposure during pregnancy development of ADHD offspring. Content We searched MEDLINE; CINAHL; EMBASE; PsycINFO; The Cochrane Library Google Scholar (until March 2023), included English language, human studies if they investigated and/or NO 2 a clinician-based diagnosis up 18 years age. Summary For every μg/m 3 increase maternal pregnancy, there was 9 % increased odds childhood (adjusted ratio 1.09; 95 confidence interval: 1.01–1.17). Outlook Our findings add evidence an air pollution alterations offspring neurodevelopment. Since were only which could be meta-analysed very low certainty evidence, more research needed confirm inform future interventions policy.
