This review examines the potential of nanomaterials in revolutionizing food packaging, focusing on their role enhancing barrier properties and extending shelf life packaged foods. Traditional packaging materials often fall short effectively protecting against oxygen, moisture, UV light, resulting diminished quality shorter life. Nanomaterials, including nanoclays, metal oxide nanoparticles (e.g., ZnO, TiO₂), carbon-based graphene, carbon nanotubes), biodegradable options like cellulose nanocrystals, have emerged as promising solutions. These offer exceptional gas moisture properties, antimicrobial effects, protection capabilities. The provides an in-depth exploration various nanomaterials, highlighting distinctive mechanisms; such tortuosity which enhance performance by limiting permeability. It also discusses recent advancements integrating into both flexible rigid systems, well active intelligent that employs nanosensors for real-time monitoring freshness spoilage. Despite potential, challenges toxicity concerns, environmental impacts, economic constraints to large-scale adoption are addressed. emphasizes need future research dual-function can simultaneously improve enable sensing. innovations could transform technologies, promoting enhanced safety sustainability.

Alkylbenzene sulfonates (ABS) are surfactants widely used in residential and commercial products. To support the environmental risk assessment of these compounds, acute toxicity three ABS, linear (n-ABS), branched (BABS), alkyl phenoxybenzene (APBS), was evaluated using six aquatic organisms from different trophic levels (algae, daphnid, amphipod, mussel, snail, fish). This approach allowed direct comparisons among species to provide insights into sensitivity surfactants, compounds information on those with a lack ecotoxicity data (e.g., BABS, APBS). Endpoints related survival, growth, physiological changes were recorded. Comparisons ABS based nominal concentrations due absence pure analytical standards for APBS. However, methods developed BABS available n-ABS, so effects also measured concentrations. Results showed differences all exposed except snails, which similar most tolerant species. Based concentrations, EC50/LC50 values APBS ranged, respectively, 5.0 17.8 mg/L, 7.3 25.6 3.5 > 100 mg/L. The sensitive n-ABS fish, mussels, amphipods, while amphipods mussels APBS, respectively. Species BABS. results indicated that varied 1.24 13.13 mg/L 1.53 5.21 range reported surface waters. Amphipods could therefore be relevant model

Medicinal plants are generally important for the therapeutically active materials that can be obtained from them. Authenticating herbal products these medicinal and separating adulterants genuine therapeutic in order to protect health of public guarantee reproducible quality medicines is however a vital necessity both manufacturers regulatory organisations have roles ensuring medicines. Phytopharmaceuticals or drugs defined as having good standards when their identity, purity, composition, other physical, chemical, biological characteristics, well manufacturing processes meet certain established criteria. Herbal introduced into market often substandard fail criteria quality, safety, even legality, regulations thus put place by relevant bodies different countries regulate beginning raw way through whole process. Moreover, choice an appropriate analytical method numerous available (microscopy, spectrometry, spectroscopy, chromatography, etc.) ensure before consumption. This review seeks present variety evaluation required they may market.
