A
scientific
understanding
of
the
trends
water-related
ecosystem
services
(WESs)
under
different
scenarios
is
crucial
to
improving
WESs
and
maintaining
ecological
security.

Over
the
past
two
decades,
tea
plantation
area
in
Meitan
County,
China,
has
expanded
nearly
30-fold,
driving
significant
land
use
and
cover
changes
(LUCC)
with
unclear
impacts
on
regional
carbon
storage.

uses
PLUS-InVEST
model
to
analyze
LUCC
storage
from
2000
2020
predict
future
by
2060.
Results
show
a
decline

Massive
land
use
changes
in
Indonesia
driven
by
deforestation,
agricultural
expansion,
and
urbanization
have
significantly
increased
landslide
susceptibility
upper
watersheds.
This
study
focuses
on
the
Sumber
Brantas
Kali
Konto
sub-watersheds
where
rapid
conversion
has
destabilized
slopes
disrupted
ecological
balance.
By
integrating
remote
sensing,
Cellular
Automata-Markov
(CA-Markov),
Random
Forest
(RF)
models,
research
aims
to
identify
optimal
scenarios
for
mitigating
hazards.
Three
were
analyzed:
business
as
usual
(BAU),
capability
classification
(LCC),
regional
spatial
planning
(RSP)
using
400
field-validated
data
points
alongside
22
topographic,
geological,
environmental,
anthropogenic
parameters.
Land
analysis
from
2017
2022
revealed
a
1%
decline
natural
forest
cover,
which
corresponded
increase
high
very
hazard
areas.
From
2022,
risk
“High”
category
rose
33.95%
37.59%
“Very
High”
10.24%
12.18%;
under
BAU
2025,
they
reached
40.89%
12.48%,
while
RSP
LCC
reduced
44.12%

findings
highlight
critical
role

geospatial
machine
learning
promote
sustainable
use,

hazards,

watershed
resilience
with
model
accuracy

Understanding
how
land
cover
and
ecosystem
services
respond
to
diverse
policies
is
essential
for
economic
development
ecological
conservation.
However,
few
efforts
have
been
made
analyze
the

conjunction
with
Poyang
Lake
Ecological
Economic
Zone
(PYLEEZ),
limiting
sustainable
improvement
of
region.
Therefore,
this
study
quantified
changes
four
services,
evaluated
relationships
between
them,
analyzed
various
affected
PYLEEZ
from
2000
2020.
The
results
showed
that
artificial
surfaces
expanded
at
expense
cultivated
land.
Agricultural
encroachment
resulted
loss
most
woodland
wetland.
Under
policies,
2062.19
km2
returned
natural
land,
leading
a
net
wetland
area
increase
760.8
km2.
In
terms
crop
production
increased
significantly
(+151
%)
carbon
storage
reduced
slightly
(-2.7
under
influence
agricultural
rapid
urbanization.
Furthermore,
habitat
quality
water
yield
by
252.75
61.3
×
108
m3,
respectively.
Carbon
presented
clear
trade-off
relationship
production,
while
was
synergistic
production.
Given
current
PYLEEZ,
it
worthwhile
focus
on
safety
minimize
driven
policies.
