ABSTRACT Effective management of ecosystem services (ESs) is critical for sustainable regional development. Multi‐scale ESs assessments provide valuable insights spatial management. However, limited attention has been given to the spatial–temporal heterogeneity and driving mechanisms across urban hierarchies their integration into Therefore, taking Yangtze River Economic Belt in China as a case study, we assessed service values (ESVs) five from 2000 2020. Results showed that area ratios variation ESVs trends were typically S‐shaped small cities super cities. High‐value clusters decreased, low‐value ESV linear increase intensified. Human activities predominantly impacted lower hierarchy, whereas terrain conditions significantly higher hierarchy. Furthermore, novel framework was proposed integrate management, emphasizing multi‐scale ESs. This study effective strategies support region‐specific

Evolutions in land use urban areas exert a growing influence on ecosystem service value (ESV). As manifestation of spatial arrangement mature growth, the ecological challenges within agglomerations and their surroundings deserve attention. Therefore, clarifying interrelation ESV urbanization is crucial to constructing sustainable progress-oriented cities. Previous researches coordination relationship between have been limited provincial county levels, insufficient consideration has given differences across rural at different scales. Utilizing coupling degree (CCD) model, present investigation assesses interplay various scales Yangtze River Delta agglomeration (YRDUA) region from 2000 2020, explores distributions throughout urban–rural gradient, aiming help regional coordinated development. The findings indicate that 2010, with increasing intensity use, YRDUA area decreased. But 2010 increased. Moreover, CCD positive urbanization, status primary slow upward trajectory. Meanwhile, along rural–urban both are declining, there significant plunge suburban urban. And interactions obvious heterogeneity, which tends show broader scales, such as while manifesting conflicts finer grid scale. Our can city planners policy makers minimize adverse effects sprawl services.

The study of ecosystem service value (ESV) response to landscape pattern evolution has become a research hotspot in the fields geography and ecology, however, multi-scale mechanism ESV change Karst region is still unclear, which some extent restricts precise regulation regional ecosystems multi-level human-land coupling coordination. This focuses on Nanming River Basin (NMRB) Guizhou Province, representative karst basin southern China. Using various methods such as an equivalent factor, index, optimal parameter geo-detector(OPGD), we calculated ESVs, explored spatial temporal from 2000 2020, scientifically analyzed ESVs at sub-watershed scale (27 124 sub-watersheds) grid (2.4 km × 2.4 1.2 grids), respectively. results revealed that synergies have been dominant relationship between NMRB since beginning 21st century. At sub-basin scale, shape index (LSI) (21–43%) coefficient variation (SHAPE_CV) (20–35%) were main drivers geographical differentiation trade-offs/synergies among with few attenuation effect types weakened geographic differentiation. However, two-factor enhancement nonlinear exception. patch cohesion (COHESION) (4–49%) contiguity (CONTIG_MN) (15–39%) divergence trade-offs/synergies, factor interactions divergence. COHESION (3%–21%) LSI (4%–13%) became primary influences divergence, no independence or type interactions. are crucial for optimising services formulating appropriate strategies coordinating ecological-economic development regions China around world.

Understanding the dynamic relationship between ecosystem service supply and urbanization demand, identifying underlying influencing mechanisms are crucial for sustainable development in global process. However, current studies mainly focused on coupling coordination of situation, rather than system. Thus, we introduced concept degree (DCCD) to address research gap. This study calculated rates composite index (ESSCI) demand (UDDCI) from 2000 2020 construct DCCD model case Yangtze River Delta region. Subsequently, analysed inherent causing regional differences DCCD. Our results indicated that (1) ESSCI UDDCI showed spatiotemporal heterogeneity, rate had significant north south, decreased east west. (2) In 2020, notable existed northern southern region, with zone being lower. The situation improved 2005 2015. (3) Global habitat quality a impact coordination. north, annual water yield significantly influenced coordination, while carbon sequestration it. These factors related land use. We into old achieve goals.

The contemporary economic landscape has placed significant emphasis on the digital economy and resilience, progressively emerging as pivotal focal points for examining high-quality development of systems. However, there remains to be more research several critical topics. This includes characteristics coordinated between resilience systems their interdependence. In response, this study formulates a comprehensive evaluative framework regional grounded in intrinsic mechanisms both domains. It conducts thorough evaluation employing entropy weight-TOPSIS methodology. Additionally, leveraging coupling theory, coordination model’s degree serves foundational scrutinizing symbiotic advancement along with interdependent nature. sample comprises data from 31 provinces municipalities China (excluding Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan) 2011 2020. Spatial autocorrelation Geodetector methodologies probe evolutionary traits driving factors underlying developmental relationship these two findings indicate an upward trajectory China’s annual index (from 0.233 0.458) 0.393 0.497). systems, measured 0.504 0.658 2020, demonstrate consistent growth pattern average increase 3.01%. These levels exhibit continuous improvement, zones manifesting hierarchical results within range [0.5, 0.8]. Ecosystems worldwide are facing significant challenges resulting from the dual pressures of global climate change and human activities, particularly in terms biodiversity loss associated with land-use change. Focusing on Yangtze River Economic Belt (YREB), this study uses System Dynamics (SD) - Patch-generating Land Use Simulation (PLUS) model to simulate development under different scenarios shared socio-economic pathways (SSPs) representative concentration (RCPs) 2030 2050. Furthermore, InVEST is applied evaluate changes habitat quality (HQ) over period 2000 A hotspot analysis further highlights spatial heterogeneity HQ within YREB. The showed that pattern YREB 2020 2050 will be dominated by cropland eastern region, grassland north-west, forest land central southern regions, a steady increase built-up east. index exhibits gradual east west, ultimately declining 0.726 SSP585 scenario for This trend reflects moderate degradation (HD), degree shifting towards lower higher proportions HQ. Spatial reveals region identified as cold spot, categorized non-significant, while western emerges hot where exceeds 40%. These findings offer scientific foundation promoting high-quality enhancing conservation
