Rapid urbanization has affected ecosystem stability, and the construction of ecological security patterns (ESPs) can rationally allocate resources achieve protection. Studying land use and cover (LULC) patterns, identifying driving forces, simulating future scenarios are vital for grasping the complex connection between human actions environment. This helps in shaping sustainable management strategies preparing impacts of climate change. However, there is a necessity comprehensive system modeling framework that can accurately capture spatial temporal changes LULC, analyze mechanisms, provide an integrated analysis simulations. In this paper, IM-RF-Markov-PLUS developed, focusing on Fuxian Lake Basin (FLB) as study area. The aims to achieve accurate prediction LULC by combining microscopic change trend contribution macroscopic forces. results show that: (1) explore patterns mechanisms FLB, predict FLB. Compared with PLUS model, its accuracy improved 2%. (2) IM reveals transformation FLB both general specific. Although area grassland, buildings, roads structures converted desert bare minimal, it shows relatively tendentious specific characteristics. (3) Different types significantly affected factors, expansion LULCs constrained major factors. distance lake has most significant impact distribution garden land, while primary road greatest forestland. Balancing socio-economic development with ecological protection amid rapid urbanization is a pressing global issue. The security pattern (ESP) follows the reciprocal relationship between and function to conserve processes, providing an effective approach address this problem. However, most studies have adopted single subjective assignment method for resistance factors, lacking exploration of impact various methods on ESP. Taking Fuzhou metropolitan area as case, study proposes different methods: favorable, moderate, unfavorable. By applying circuit theory, it constructs ESP identifies critical areas restoration. findings show that (1) cumulative threshold increases, corridors expands from 171.36 km2 1439.24 km2, moderate identified optimal approach; (2) significant differences exist in identification key under methods. 26 corridors, spanning total length 41.29 km; (3) cover 2469.79 including 13 patches pinch points, while restoration 14.55 7 barriers 21 breaking points. pinpointing proposing targeted strategies, can facilitate practical efforts, thereby achieving sustainable goal minimizing economic costs maximizing benefits.

ABSTRACT This study focuses on precisely identifying ecological restoration priorities within territorial spaces, aiming to safeguard security and accelerate the implementation of differentiated strategies. An innovative “area‐to‐point” framework is developed by integrating systematic conservation targeted perspectives accurately determine work in space. Taking Three Gorges Reservoir Area (TGRA) as a case study, dual—evaluation method combining ecosystem service importance index problem adopted quantitatively identify “areas.” Then, from perspective, pattern construction applied “points.” Finally, spatial overlay techniques are utilized formulate strategies for different intervention levels. The results convincingly demonstrate validity practicality proposed framework. A total 300.63 km 2 areas identified, categorized into three priority levels: Level I (75.69 ), II (88.94 III (136.00 ). These primarily located along critical corridors northwestern northern parts TGRA. Although these exhibit high value, some face significant challenges, with land use predominantly consisting arable forestland. recommends comprehensive improvements management, artificial afforestation, greening construction, enhanced environment monitoring prevent loss land. findings not only provide scientific guidance TGRA but also offer new insights research other regions.

Rapid urbanization has further expanded the scale of construction land in urban agglomerations.
