Coal mining in the eastern Huaihe Plain has led to land degradation and hydrological disturbances, transforming terrestrial ecosystems into a complex of aquatic systems. These changes significantly impact regional ecological processes, structure, functions. Hence, assessing health condition restoring degraded subsidence wetlands efficiently have become urgent issues coal resource-based cities. This research developed an ecosystem assessment model for using Driving Force–Pressure–State–Impact–Response (DPSIR) framework, with focus on Yingshang County, Anhui Province. The findings indicated that wetland was sub-healthy condition, score 0.51. Specific scores subsystems “Driving Force”, “Pressure”, “State” were 0.584, 0.690, 0.537, respectively, indicating these categorized as healthy, very sub-healthy. In contrast, “Impact” “Response” 0.076 0.093, both falling within poor (V) status. Weight analysis indicators revealed development index (Cp1), disturbance intensity (Cp2), aggregation (Cs3), diversity (Cs4), conservation rate (Cr1) affected health. Taking account results specific environmental conditions study area, this recommends restoration strategies preservation ecosystems. from can provide basis governmental bodies create policies aimed at management wetlands.
