Studying human activity in coastal areas is crucial for urban planning, sustainability, and economic development. However, there limited evidence of ongoing monitoring activities these areas. Thus, a quantitative analysis the spatio-temporal changes, trends, variability Nighttime light (NTL) Italian Coastal Zone over past decade (2014-2023) was conducted to assess dynamics. The findings our study indicate following: (1) NTL increases years both extent intensity along zone; (2) vary by season, with zone being brighter summer; (3) highly heterogeneous pattern found where some locations became hot spots (significant upward trend) or cold downward while others remain unchanged. By explaining intensification activity, this can provide insight into identifying patterns development environmental conditions contributing more effective planning zones.
