Using panel data of Chinese cities from 2006 to 2020, this study constructs the carbon emission performance index perspective dual differences in four stages growth, maturity, decline and regeneration eastern, central, western resource-based (RBCs). This employs Dagum Gini coefficient kernel density estimation explore σ convergence β for understanding differences, dynamic evolutionary trend convergence. Results indicate that during sample period, RBCs shows a fluctuating upward with regional typological imbalance influenced by geographical location division labour. The different regions types (Growing, Mature, Declining Regenerative) downward trend. However, gap between 116 China is gradually expanding, further corroborating influence “excellent but outliers”. overall level exhibits convergence, absolute conditional phenomena. Notably, growing regenerative demonstrate clear “catching-up” compared mature declining RBCs. Furthermore, inclusion control variables reveals varying degrees increased speed. Environmental regulation intensity (ERI), gross domestic product (GDP), energy consumption structure (ECS), technology development (T), industrial (IS) foreign direct investment significant type heterogeneity changes Finally, based on analysis results, implications are proposed enhance types, as well at national levels.

Introduction Agricultural carbon emission reduction is the meaning of realizing goal double carbon, and Sichuan province, as one main grain producing areas in China, it urgent to realize agricultural reduction. Methods Based on data 18 cities province from 2000 2022, this paper calculates total intensity by using IPCC guidelines, measures its temporal, spatial evolution trend regional differences, further evaluates driving factors fixed effect model. Results The results show that: (1) quantity emissions has increased, but decreased, among which caused land planting residents’ life are sources; (2) differences narrowing, gap between groups root emissions, shows that eastern western Sichuan, southern quite different; (3) characterized agglomeration spillover, mainly showing a High-High mode, few have changed their modes; (4) influenced multiple factors. Population density, industrial structure, social wealth, mechanization technological progress negative effects intensity, while macro-control increased intensity. Discussion In study, complete accounting system for was established, series statistical methods were used analyze obtain insightful results. It useful exploration low-carbon models context climate change. important implications green development agriculture province.

The scientific evaluation of ecological total factor productivity cultivated land use (ETFPCLU) is fundamental for advancing sustainable utilization resources and safeguarding national food security stability. Using the epsilon-based measure global Malmquist–Luenberger (EBM–GML) index, this study quantifies decomposes ETFPCLU across China. Spatial–temporal variations convergence patterns are systematically investigated via an analytical toolkit comprising spatial mismatch Dagum’s Gini coefficient decomposition, models. results indicate that Chinese increased by average 2.1% per year from 2001 to 2022, primarily attributed technical change (TC), with limited contributions efficiency (EC). between TC, as well EC, predominantly characterized low medium types, exhibiting a high degree distribution similarity; inter-regional differences main contributors regional disparities. Furthermore, except central region, significant σ-convergence exists in country other regions, alongside absolute β-convergence conditional four major regions. analysis concludes enhance ETFPCLU, it essential strengthen technological innovation, synergistically improve efficiency, formulate protection policies tailored local conditions, foster collaboration among regions protection.
