Lead (Pb) and lithium (Li) are metals which have been detected in the environment and, at high concentrations, can induce toxic effects that disturb growth, metabolism or reproduction of organisms along entire trophic chain. The impacts these scarcely investigated using marine bivalves, especially when acting as a mixture. present study aimed to investigate influence temperature on ecotoxicological caused by Pb Li, alone mixture, mussel species Mytilus galloprovincialis after 28 days exposure. were evaluated under actual (17 °C) projected (+4 warming conditions, understand rise (both mixture). results obtained showed increased did not accumulation metals. Marine bivalves are found as key components of coastal habitats and have several important roles, such serving a food source for human beings aquatic organisms. In fact, the world's population continues to grow, bivalve aquaculture is expected increase in importance means addressing demands animal protein; however, its growth may be possibly compromised by unfavourable climatic conditions. Thus, we assessed effects increased water temperature acidification on seeds commercial importance, Manila clam, Ruditapes philippinarum, order understand how this species affected climate change at early life stages. We examined response clams experimentally mimicking seasonal conditions that could forecasted occur end twenty-first century. Different physiological responses were measured including rates, clearance rate, burrowing time different biochemical biomarkers metabolic stress. The results showed decreased acidic experimental spring, with weak interaction temperature. Clearance rate was negatively lower pH spring summer but, under extreme conditions, effect overridden negative impact higher Burrowing rates reduced half warm summer. contrast, only significantly depicted autumn. Overall, study demonstrates need consider seasonality when evaluating potential clam forecast consequences biological production.
