Are the economic valuations of marine and coastal ecosystem services supporting policymakers? A systematic review and remaining gaps and challenges

With
the
increasing
adoption
of
ecosystem
approach
as
integral
to
sustainable
development
policies,
economic
valuation
marine
and
coastal
services
(ESs)
has
become
relevant
for
informing
decision-making
processes.
Through
an
integrated
encompassing
bibliometric,
network,
content
analyses,
this
review
is
aimed
at
analyzing
evolution
trend,
main
research
clusters,
gaps
scientific
literature
in
field
ESs.
The
bibliometric
results
showed
that
experiencing
evolving
positive
trend
represents
a
challenging
topic.
From
network
overlay
visualization
keyword
co-occurrences,
it
emerged
clusters
comprehensively
address
key
policy-relevant
issues.
In
analysis,
examination
estimated
ESs
methods
used
by
studies
with
highest
impact
on

Phytoplankton

To
investigate
the
impact
of
freshwater
discharge
variations
from
Nanliu
River
on
phytoplankton
community
structure
in
Lianzhou
Bay,
we
conducted
surveys
total
chlorophyll-
a
(Tchl-
)
concentrations
and
specific
pigment
groups
during
wet
dry
seasons
2016.

introduced
substantial
freshwater,
nutrients,
suspended
particulate
matter

Abstract
Urban
estuaries
face
numerous
problems

stormwater
runoff.
