ABSTRACT Drought stress severely impacts wheat growth, development and yield, significantly challenging global food security. Wheat is a staple crop worldwide, increasing its drought resilience crucial. Trehalose, stress‐protective disaccharide, crucial for enhancing tolerance. This review examines strategies strengthening wheat's through trehalose, including genetic modifications to enhance trehalose synthesis external applications. Breeders are focused on developing high-yielding genotypes that can grow in semi-arid regions under water stress. A field experiment was conducted during the 2020 to 2021 cropping season at experimental of ITGC, Setif. The aim this study assess performance durum wheat for agronomic traits growing conditions. 10 evaluated were grown a randomized block with three replications.
