Under the Paris Agreement, countries must articulate their most ambitious mitigation targets in Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) every five years and regularly submit interconnected information on greenhouse gas (GHG) aspects, including national GHG inventories, NDC progress tracking, policies measures (PAMs), projections various scenarios. Research highlights significant gaps definition of reporting GHG-related elements, such as inconsistencies between projections, targets, a disconnect PAMs scenarios, well varied methodological approaches across sectors. To address these challenges, Mitigation-Inventory Tool for Integrated Climate Action (MITICA) provides framework that links applying hybrid decomposition approach integrates machine learning regression techniques with classical forecasting methods developing emission projections. MITICA enables scenario generation until 2050, incorporating over 60 Intergovernmental Panel Change (IPCC) It is first modelling ensures consistency aligning tracking target setting IPCC best practices while linking climate change sustainable economic development. MITICA’s results include align observed trends, validated through cross-validation against test data, employ robust evaluating PAMs, thereby establishing its reliability.

The measures needed to limit global warming pose a particular challenge current fossil fuel exporters, who must not only decarbonise their local energy systems, but also compensate for the expected decline in revenues. One possibility is seen export of green hydrogen. Using Algeria as case study, this paper analyses how different levels ambition hydrogen exports, efficiency and switching affect cost-optimal expansion power sector given overall emissions reduction path. Despite falling costs photovoltaics wind turbines, results indicate that countries with very low natural gas prices, such Algeria, fully renewable electricity system by 2050 unlikely without appropriate policy measures. should therefore start early, high annual growth rates required, which will be reinforced additional exports. In parallel, key factor it directly mitigates CO2 from fuels reduces domestic demand, could instead used production. Integrating electrolysers into potentially help reduce specific through load shifting. Overall, seems advisable analyse exports together decarbonisation order better understand interactions efficiently possible. These methodology transferred other want become exporters future are useful addition researchers makers.

This study investigates key parameters and applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in predicting the total cost ownership (TCO) for chilled water plants (CWPs). Forecasting TCO CWPs is challenging due to diverse dynamic factors that influence it, necessitating understanding their complex correlations causations. While AI non-AI approaches have improved parameter prediction accuracy different engineering applications, comprehensive literature reviews on chiller methodologies influencing are limited. systematic review addresses three objectives: (1) identify estimating CWPs, (2) examine existing techniques employed forecasting benefits energy savings, (3) evaluate how enhances robustness. Following preferred reporting items meta-analyses (PRISMA) guidelines, this analyzed studies from 2017 2024 sourced Web Science Scopus databases. identifies several TCO, including cooling load, consumption, capacity, Coefficient Performance (COP). The shows AI-driven models, such as deep learning machine algorithms, robustness predictions, it further demonstrates scenarios where outperforms conventional methods. Notably, current predicted be capable reducing life cycle costs by up 18%, based modeling estimates.
