A growing literature shows that confinement policies used by governments to slow COVID-19 transmission have negative impacts on mental health, but the differential effects of individual health remain poorly understood. We data from questionnaire Survey Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE), which focuses populations aged 50 older, Oxford Government Response Tracker for 28 countries estimate eight different three outcomes health: insomnia, anxiety depression. applied robust machine learning methods interest. Our results indicate closure schools public transportation, restrictions domestic international travel, gathering did not worsen older Europe. In contrast, stay at home workplace closures aggravated analysed. Based these findings, we close with a discussion should be implemented, intensified, or relaxed control spread virus without compromising populations.

Background Vaccination has been one of the most effective preventive strategies to contain COVID-19 pandemic. However, as vaccines’ effect wanes off after some time and given their reduced level protection against mutation strains virus, calls for boosters second signal need continuous vaccination foreseeable future. As Malaysia transitions into endemic phase, nation’s ability co-exist with virus in phase will hinge on people’s continuance intention be vaccinated virus. Adapting expectations confirmation model (ECM) public health context a developing country, this study integrates ECM belief (HBM) theory reasoned action (TRA) examine inter-relationships predictors vaccinate COVID-19. Methodology Data were collected using self-administered questionnaires from 1,914 respondents aged 18 above by marketing consulting firm via its online panel. The partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) technique was used analyze data. Results Out respondents, 55.9% reported having COVID-19, similar other countries. multivariate analysis revealed that perceived usefulness satisfaction significantly influenced individuals’ Additionally, attitude found play key role influencing behavioral change among individuals towards perceptions continuously getting Conclusions By integrating three theoretical frameworks (i.e., HBM, TRA ECM), showed characteristics could provide insights intention. Hence, policymakers stakeholders can develop or interventions encourage vaccine booster uptake targeting factors such usefulness, attitude, satisfaction, subjective norms.

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on population mental health and the need for services in many countries, while also disrupting critical capacity, as response to pandemic. This paper investigates if and how Employment Protection Legislation (EPL) influences mental-health responses to older workers' job disruptions in Europe. It exploits labour market shocks during the first wave of COVID-19 pandemic, it is based on European data from SHARE survey, which each country characterised by a different level EPL. The analysis controls for individual characteristics other contextual factors via propensity score matching. Results show that distress following depends EPL, with significantly higher countries EPL more binding, especially among individuals lower education level. These findings suggest consider costs benefits mitigating measures high citizens disadvantaged backgrounds.

Background: The stringency of the measures taken by governments to combat COVID-19 pandemic varied considerably across countries and time. In present study, we examined how proportionality epidemiological situation is related citizens’behavior, motivation mental health. Methods: Across 421 days between March 2020 2022, 273,722 Belgian participants (Mage = 49.47; 63.9% female; 33% single) completed an online questionnaire. Multiple linear mixed regression modeling was used examine interaction situation, as indicated actual hospitalization numbers, index predict day-to-day variation in variables interest. Results: Systematic evidence emerged showing that disproportional situations, opposed proportional were associated with a clear pattern maladaptive outcomes. Specifically, when either strict or lenient relation people reported lower autonomous motivation, more controlled amotivation, less adherence sanitary rules, higher perceived risk infection, need satisfaction, anxiety depressive symptoms. Perceived severity especially covaried measures. At absolute level, citizens highest satisfaction health during Conclusion: Stringent are not per se demotivating compromising people’s well-being, nor such motivating enhancing well-being. Background Nature-based therapy (NBT), which centers around engaging in activities within natural surroundings, has consistently demonstrated therapeutic benefits for mental health. While NBT highlights the potential of nature as a resource promoting health, there is limited knowledge regarding its underlying mechanisms. Methods Two hundred seventy-six Korean participants (204 women, mean age = 54.99 ± 23.25 years) participated 30-session gardening program held twice weekly 15 weeks. Structural equation modeling with two-wave autoregressive cross-lagged model was used to investigate mediating effects mindfulness. Results significantly improved scores all psychological variables. The mediation partially confirmed, mindfulness at post-intervention (T2) relationship between baseline (T1) depression and anxiety life satisfaction. However, no significant indirect effect observed path from stress satisfaction (T2). Conclusion Mindfulness crucial component improving health outcomes. This study underscores need prioritize emphasize practices NBT.
