As an important factor affecting ecological sustainability, the food industry’s efficiency (EE) deserves great attention and control. In 2013, China implemented a carbon emissions trading policy (CETP) to limit from various industries promote optimization of environment. Using provincial panel data 2003 2019, this measured industry through difference-in-difference model, evaluated emission reduction economic effects characterized effectiveness, analysed its mechanism using three-stage mediating regression. The results showed that (1) significantly affected increased by 38.3% average experimental provinces compared with non-experimental provinces. (2) For was most significant manufacturing tobacco subsectors, these subsectors 66.0% 39.7%, respectively; meanwhile, not agriculture subsidiary processing beverage manufacturing. By industrial area, were higher eastern region central western regions. close 150%, while regions, it significant. (3) promoted improving energy consumption structure technological innovation. proportion coal decreased 6.34% average, innovation level 25.1% provinces’ industries. research findings indicate CEPT good practice worth spreading. enterprises emissions, should be paid low-carbon transformation upgrading management optimization. policymakers, targeted policies are needed establish national unified market so can controlled, gap between regional narrowed.

Traditional industrial development models have already caused an imbalance in ecosystem services supply and demand (ESSD). As a response strategy, transformation upgrading (ITU) are increasingly playing vital role regulating the relationship among ESSD. However, research on interplay impact of these two aspects remains insufficient. Therefore, comprehensive analysis complex effects ITU ESSD is essential for planning environmental management. We developed theoretical framework to interpret how impacts ESSD, from perspective natural-social-economic composite ecosystem. Using Yangtze River Economic Belt (YREB) as example, we employed Dynamic Spatial Durbin model (DSDM) reveal spatiotemporal four distinct types. The results indicated that 2010 2021, total YREB exceeded demand. kernel density curves ratios related food production, carbon sequestration, water conservation, soil conservation all show trend peak shifting bottom right over time. Additionally, pronounced spatial heterogeneity was observed ratios, with notable clustering Furthermore, decomposition revealed had detrimental influence equilibrium between this adverse effect intensifying manifesting stronger spillover time progressed. Positive were sequestration both demonstrating significant effects.
