Improving the rural living environment is of great significance in enhancing life quality residents and promoting sustainable development. The Chinese government initiated a nationwide three-year action 2018, followed by five-year campaign starting 2021, to improve environment. Despite these efforts, comprehensive assessment covering multiple facets at national level remained scarce. A novel evaluation method was proposed this study that included seven aspects nineteen indicators, applied AHP for weighting, PLS-SEM analyze relationships between variables. Then, completion key tasks improvement 37 counties, which were incentivized State Council on account its excellent governance results, comprehensively investigated evaluated. counties revealed high household solid waste disposal, domestic sewage treatment, toilet improvement. However, uneven among different regions, progress varied tasks. funds input had greater impact than social economic factors. Accordingly, should provide more targeted financial policy support underdeveloped areas. And priority be given treatment sanitation, especially remote Furthermore, local governments diversify funding sources ensure sustainability These findings theoretical basis developing policies specific plans address challenges investment management China other countries regions worldwide.

Assessing the performance level of human settlement improvement in traditional villages is significant promoting protection villages, but there a lack research on from perspective corporate governance previous studies. This paper selected 16 as case and obtained total 345 questionnaires. By reference to Balanced Scorecard (BSC) theory, evaluation index system for constructed this paper. In addition, exhibited by evaluated analyzed via entropy weight Technique Order Preference Similarity Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method obstacle degree analysis method. study reveals following findings: (1) The Jiaozuo city ranges between 0.28 0.64, with an average value 0.49, thus indicating medium level. (2) With respect subdimensions performance, policy management dimension (0.88) exhibits highest value, followed villagers (0.48) learning growth (0.27), while financial benefits (0.10) lowest value. (3) obstacles affecting different types are characterized both similarities differences. summarized effects village improvement, provided more scientific reliable suggestions future so better promote sustainable development environment.

The Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region, located inside the Basin, functions as a vital ecological and economic area in China, with its natural environment directly impacting human existence. This study seeks to elucidate spatial temporal evolution of rural resilience region underlying mechanisms by establishing comprehensive assessment framework for resilience, thereby offering scientific foundation policy guidance region’s sustainable development. research first established DPSIR (driving force–pressure–state–impact–response) index system. Subsequently, entropy weighting method TOPSIS were utilized assess rank levels (Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui) from 2012 2022. Ultimately, partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) was employed examine intrinsic logical relationships among five dimensions extract conclusions. effectively met goals SDG 7 (clean water sanitation), 8 (decent work growth), 11 (sustainable cities communities). indicated that (1) level initially declined, then increased, eventually attained condition stabilization. Changes “driving force”, influenced “response level” environmental “pressure”, have affected areas. There is heterogeneity values ranges change provinces, “impact” component exhibiting most substantial evaluation value. findings yield recommendations implementation diverse regional governance, establishment connectivity mechanisms, customization strategies address specific deficiencies each province, systematic enhancement resilience.
