The rapid development of China's economy and the acceleration urbanization process have led to a significant increase in carbon emissions, more effective policies are urgently needed. As first city China be approved for overall master plan territorial space, Chongqing is facing new opportunities urban construction. This research constructed classification system space functional areas (CQ-TSFA) matched corresponding emission sequestration projects. Under this system, spatial-temporal evolution characteristics its emissions been examined, main influencing factors investigated based on Stochastic Impacts by Regression Population, Affluence, Technology (STIRPAT) model. study draws following conclusions: (1) from 2000 2020, CQ-TSFA increased 48.87 million tons 148.05 tons; (2) expansion living sub-areas central area vicinity seats various district county governments. production edges around Yangtze River Basin within Chongqing, including many industrial parks; (3) contributions descending order economic effect, intensity CQ-TSFA, population size utilization rate plays strong inhibitory role. Finally, these conclusions, article puts forward some policy suggestions address challenges provide references promoting sustainable whole country.
