Ambitious policy measures required for transitioning towards a low-carbon energy system often face political and societal opposition. In this paper, we study discursive resistance currently debated mitigation policies in Austria from justice perspective. By carrying out discourse analysis that was based on newspaper articles, social media entries expert interviews, identified five categories of counter-storylines resonate with either distributive or procedural concerns. Categories related to concerns are "denial responsibility", "feasibility constraints" "adverse impacts", while "lack reliability" inclusion". Our categorization provides concise comprehensive overview opposition allows better understanding against climate action. To reduce the dependence on fossil fuels to fulfill energy needs and give rural areas better access energy, biomethane generation technology (BG-TECH) can help in these situations. However, several crucial factors might influence BG-TECH’s acceptance by households. In order eradicate barriers strengthen driving forces of BG-TECH acceptance, it becomes inevitable explore those factors.
