Cyanobacteria and algae serving as promising food supplements have recently garnered attention for their emerging potential in anti-cancer activity. Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) or bile duct cancer is one of the top-leading cancers affecting people, particularly Asian continent. With patients exhibiting no minimal symptoms early stages, advanced CCA often diagnosed, primary treatments such surgery may not be suitable. Discovery natural bioactive compounds have, thus, attracted effective means to combat supplement treatments. In this work, ethanolic polysaccharide extracts cyanobacteria were tested cytotoxicity against 2 cell lines (KKU055 KKU213A). The from Leptolyngbya sp. Chlorella demonstrated growth inhibition both lines, with IC50 values 0.658 mg/mL 0.687 KKU055, 0.656 0.450 KKU213A. contrast, only Sargassum spp. exhibited a remarkable cytotoxic effect, while extract Spirulina showed slight effect at higher concentration (2 mg/mL). All further investigated improving immune killing ability that was able improve ability. This then its effects on population, which positive impact NK population. To explore use, synergistic an already-in-use chemotherapeutic drug, gemcitabine, investigated. results enhanced co-treatment compared use each treatment separately. most apparent difference observed KKU055 cells where % living reduced 78.96% (immune alone) 20.93% when combined gemcitabine used.

Bile duct carcinomas have a different prognosis and genetic profile depending on their location; intrahepatic/extrahepatic or at the level of gallbladder. Although in recent years there been important advances first-line therapy, second-line therapy cholangiocarcinoma does not currently standard. Therefore this level, is an acute need for personalized treatment. The present article narrative review that aims to list newest targeted therapeutic options type cancer, based identified alterations. literature selected analysis includes phase 2 3 studies with disease original articles no older than three describe prevalence most common gene alterations cancer. PubMed/Medline, Scopus, Clarivate-Web Science databases were searched keywords such as "cholangiocarcinoma," "biliary cancer," "targeted therapy," "gene amplifications," "mutations" used. This was designed taking into account SANRA (Scale Assessment Narrative Review Articles) criteria. conclusions lead fact next-generation sequencing testing particular usefulness cholangiocarcinoma. cancers are rich targetable alterations, treatment constant change, although much current data comes from II studies. There great be analyzed III Hence, oncological community stay informed about supported by article.

Biliary tract cancers, including cholangiocarcinoma, gallbladder, and ampulla of Vater rank second among hepatobiliary known for their poor prognoses. The United States has witnessed a notable increase in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma incidence. This study examines the incidence survival outcomes biliary cancers Olmsted County, Minnesota from 1976 to 2018. Using data Rochester Epidemiology Project (REP), residents aged 20 above were analyzed across four eras. Incidence rates calculated adjusted age sex, temporal trends assessed using Poisson regression. Intrahepatic exhibited significant escalation over time, while gallbladder showed decline women. Median times notably improved. These findings confirm rising suggest improving rates. Nevertheless, overall prognosis remains very poor, emphasizing continual need enhanced management strategies further research.

Circular RNAs (circRNAs) lack the 5'-end methylated guanine cap structure and 3' polyadenylate tail structure, classifying it as a non-coding RNA. With extensive investigation of circRNA, its role in regulating cell death has garnered significant attention recent years, establishing recognized participant cancer's biological processes. Autophagy, an essential pathway programmed (PCD), involves formation autophagosomes using lysosomes to degrade cellular contents under regulation various autophagy-related (ATG) genes. Numerous studies have demonstrated that circRNA can modulate activity cancer cells by influencing autophagy pathway, exhibiting dualistic suppressing or promoting carcinogenesis. In this review, we comprehensively analyze how impacts progression gastrointestinal (GIC). Additionally, discuss drug resistance phenomena associated with GIC. This review offers valuable insights into exploring potential targets for prognosis treatment strategies related
