ABSTRACT Background The effects of lobectomy at various lung sites on postoperative function and recovery vary. This study aimed assessing the long‐term impact upper versus lower patients' daily by analyzing patient‐reported outcomes. Methods multicenter prospective cohort enrolled patients from six hospitals in China. Functional impairments symptom severity were measured using MD Anderson Symptom Inventory‐Lung Cancer. A mixed‐effects linear model was employed to analyze average trajectories each functional item top five symptoms over first year following surgery between undergoing lobectomy. median days for estimated Kaplan–Meier method, with log‐rank test comparing differences Results Two hundred twenty‐six met final analysis criteria, 137 89 lobectomies. Those group reported significantly greater interference activities (estimate = 0.872, SE 0.306, p 0.004), mood 0.667, 0.297, 0.025), work 0.856, 0.358, 0.017), indicating a more pronounced postsurgical compared within after surgery. They also experienced longer times (15 vs. 4 days), (6 3.5 walking (7 days) group. Conclusions Within surgery, impairment functions required patients. Trial Registration NCT03341377

Myelolipomas are rare tumors containing adipose tissue and normal hematopoietic cells that mainly occur in the adrenal cortex. Mediastinal myelolipomas extremely rare. The three-dimensional, high-definition view with up to 10 times image magnification, 7 degrees of freedom surgical instruments, filtration physiologic hand tremors robotic systems ideal for removing mediastinal a small space. Herein, we report case posterior myelolipoma treated using resection. A 72-year-old man an abnormal shadow on chest roentgenogram was referred our hospital. Computed tomography revealed extrapulmonary paravertebral lesions right mediastinum. Despite tumor's fragility, complete resection achieved robot-assisted thoracic surgery while preserving lesion integrity. tumor diagnosed as histopathology resected section, patient discharged no complications fifth postoperative day. fragile thin capsule, consisting cells. Robot-assisted is particularly effective resecting like contain components. With delicate manipulation, can be used safely completely resect tumors, including myelolipomas.

ABSTRACT Background and Aims The optimal management strategy for newly diagnosed pulmonary ground‐glass nodules (GGNs) with suspected inflammatory etiology remains controversial in clinical practice. Empirical anti‐inflammatory therapy is commonly used, but its efficacy compared that of follow‐up observation lacks high‐quality evidence. Therefore, this study aims to compare the effectiveness empirical anti‐infective GGNs real‐world settings. Methods This intends include 254 participants discovered opacities (GGOs) be related inflammation without current radiographic features suggestive malignancy. Antibiotics will recommended when doctor considers GGOs may infection‐related. Upon enrollment, all assessed Self‐Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) divided into either intervention or group. A repeat CT scan SAS assessment conducted after 1 month ( ± 2 weeks) following initial discovery GGOs. primary outcome participants' response rate at first CT. secondary GGO total scores enrollment. non‐inferiority test outcomes between two groups. Discussion To date, necessity using antibiotics upon screening remain controversial. protocol describes rationale methodology address unmet need data, aiming bridge gap guidelines Trial Registration: ChiCTR2200056975.
