In order to further explore the effect of mercury contamination soil (nearly 20 years) near a mining area (Tongren, Guizhou, China) on diversity and structure bacterial communities, five groups samples (SMO2, SMO20, SMO30, SMO500, SMO650) were collected at distances 2, 20, 30, 500, 650 m, respectively, from only sewage outlet (Guizhou, China). All 0-20 cm topsoil layer. After processing them, microbial DNA was extracted each sample, sequenced via high-throughput sequencing technology. The results indicated significantly greater community in SMO2, SMO650 (relative high contents) than SMO300 SMO500 low contents). Alpha analysis revealed that SMO2 SMO20 exceeded SMO650. identical distinct dominant communities within sample both phylum class levels. According analyzed relationships between environmental factors abundance for group, pH, distance (mercury content), electrical conductivity (EC) had impacts available N, P, K. survival relative taxa provides compelling evidence adaptability bacteria long-term environment. this study provide scientific reference impetus research mechanism(s) responsible tolerance stress mercury-contaminated soil.

Soil calcium is a vital component in plant growth and soil health. Earthworm activities impact metal distribution speciation lot by changing pH. Nevertheless, little known about how ecological earthworm species, particularly Terra Rossa soil, affect Ca distribution. This research examined the effects of four different species (epigeic Eisenia fetida (noted as EF), endogeic Amynthas robustus AR) Pontoscolex corethrurus PC), anecic aspergillum AA)) on speciations (water-soluble (CaWs), exchangeable (CaEx), acid-soluble bound (CaAc), organic-bound (CaOr), residual (CaRe)), pH, release contents cations (Ca, Mg, K, Na), total (CaTotal) contents, nitrogen (TN) organic carbon (SOC) concentrations, cation-exchange capacity (CEC), NIRS spectral characteristics for 40 days under lab conditions. In contrast to control 108.3%, 158.3%, 91.7%, 125.0% CaWs casts 116.6%, 58.3% 91.6% uningested increased significantly with inoculation EF, PC, AR, AA, respectively. addition, compared control, casts, Ca, CEC, available-K were presence pH values declined 0.72, 0.80, 0.45, 0.60 units relative while they decreased 0.65, 0.84, 0.34, 0.59 soil. The inoculated PC had higher than those other three species. Principal analysis revealed significant differences speciation, NIR spectra, base cation between treatments AA inoculation. These findings expand, first time, functions especially demonstrating alter decrease cations’ release, participate regulate geochemical circulation processes limestone regions.

Although the broad-spectrum pesticide chlorpyrifos (CP) was banned in many developed countries, it is still widely used developing countries. Its residues persist environment for unpredictable times. CP toxic to various non-target organisms and humans inhibits soil enzyme activity bacterial fungal abundance. This paper aimed evaluate effect of vermiremediation on content fertility. The application Eisenia fetida or vermicompost studied terms concentration, microbial biomass content, enzymatic activities a 120-day trial. Pesticide rates were 0, 25, 50 ppm. did not affect earthworm survival rate at tested doses. earthworms markedly increased carbon β-glucosamminidase, while had noticeably positive mainly alkaline phosphatase activity. Finally, although techniques perform bioremediation activity, they proved effective improving biological fertility presence high concentrations chlorpyrifos.
