Abstract We present the successful synthesis of a biogenic ZnO/CuO/Fe 2 O 3 nanocomposite using an aqueous leaf extract Ocimum Basilicum L . The confirmation biosynthesis was achieved through UV–Visible spectrophotometry (UV–Vis), which provided evidence NC formation. Scanning Electron Microscopy further confirmed nanoscale size NC, measuring at 65 nm. X-Ray Diffraction analysis revealed hexagonal structure for ZnO and monoclinic CuO. environmentally friendly verified Fourier transformed infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, identified functional groups in composite. Notably, demonstrated exceptional degradation capabilities toluidine blue (TB), p-toluidine (PT), m-Toluidine (MT), with rates 99%, 99.1%, 99.7%, respectively, within reaction time 120 min. kinetics followed pseudo-first order model, rate constant (k) values 0.0314 min −1 0.0189 TB PT, respectively. This high dye can be attributed to low band gap determined 1.44 eV indirect bandgap. Furthermore, exhibited excellent reusability, maintaining each cycle.

The present study reports the feasibility of synthesis a novel porous composite adsorbent, prepared from olive stone activated carbon (OS400) and garnet (GA) mineral impregnations (referred to as OSMG). This (OSMG) was applied for its ability adsorb macromolecular organic dye. composite's structural characteristics were evaluated using various techniques such Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET), Scanning Electron Microscopy equipped with Energy Dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM-EDX), diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectrometer (FT-IR). specific surface area (GA), (OS400), found be 5.157 mg⋅g-1, 1489.598 546.392 respectively. new promoted enhance adsorption methylene blue (MB). Experiments conducted under conditions, including contact time, initial dye concentration, adsorbent dosage, pH, temperatures. Data these experiments analyzed several models Langmuir, Freundlich, Temkin, Dubinin-Radushkevich (D-R). results indicated that, fit best Freundlich model that process followed pseudo-second-order kinetic mechanism. Additionally, thermodynamic analysis MB onto garnet(GA) adsorbents is endothermic, while sorption an exothermic non-spontaneous process. OSMG can used at least five cycles without significant loss adsorptive performance, easily separated water after treatment.

Contaminants of emerging concern (CECs) are chemicals or materials that not under current regulation but there increasing concerns about their possible occurrence in the environment because potential threat to human and environmental health, with wastewater perceived as primary source. Although various techniques for removal from water have been studied, it should be emphasized choice also consider use resources energy within processes, which must minimized avoid additional carbon footprints impact. In this context, biomass-based sorbents might represent a cost-effective environmentally friendly approach CECs they based on preferably local renewable lower negative impacts global cycle through greenhouse gas emissions than conventional nonrenewable ones. This paper provides an overview studies dealing application such so-called biosorbents discusses different forms: after minimal pretreatment original lignocellulosic biomass; extracted biomass and/or modified; biochar-based obtained thermochemical conversion biomass. It explains modifications efficiency selected compounds belong classes pharmaceuticals, personal care products, pesticides compares adsorption capacities, kinetic models, mechanisms reported relevant literature.
