Fossil fuels, predominant in fulfilling current energy demands, are implicated global warming, prompting a shift towards renewable sources. Among these, photovoltaic (PV) solar power plants have garnered significant attention, experiencing rapid surge installed capacity. However, notable drawback of PV is their considerable spatial footprint, emphasizing the pivotal role efficient space utilization and shading mitigation design. Notably, pitch distance, array design, type emerge as critical parameters influencing performance these during installation. In present study, eight distinct plant designs were conceptualized, incorporating four different configurations (2P-3P-2L-3L) two types (monofacial-bifacial), each with specified orientations (portrait-landscape). Other held constant across designs. Leveraging PVsyst software, simulations conducted for yielding crucial metrics, including annual output delivered to grid (E-grid), ratio (PR), associated CO2 emissions. Subsequently, Taguchi analysis facilitated optimization based on results. The outcome this identified optimal design 3D bifacial. Further insight was gained through an ANOVA analysis, revealing substantial contributions overall variability. Specifically, exhibited contribution 65.27%, while configuration contributed 34.72% observed variability performance. These findings not only enhance understanding intricacies but also underscore paramount significance achieving heightened efficiency sustainability.

This research paper presents a comprehensive study on the implementation of photovoltaic (PV) energy systems at Al-Abrar Mosque in Saudi Arabia. The primary objective was to explore optimal regional solar power strategies. By synergistically integrating technical evaluations PV system with economic analyses, including payback period and levelized cost (LCOE), alongside an investigation net metering billing scenarios, we delineated pathway toward achieving zero for mosque’s requirements. examined two scenarios: Scenario I involved metering, while II explored billing. Our theoretical simulation results, derived from detailed analyses conducted using PVsyst software, unequivocally demonstrated superiority this specific application. With needs can be efficiently met minimal infrastructure—comprising only 34 modules single inverter. In contrast, requires significantly higher resource demands, underscoring spatial advantages metering. Additionally, is 7.9 years, II, it extends 87 years. Through rigorous simulations, reaffirmed practicality feasibility approach within context Furthermore, our provides actionable insights implementing sustainable solutions sites, such as Mosque, contributes advancing renewable knowledge region.
