The toluene (TOL)–methylcyclohexane (MCH) system is one of the viable solutions because its high stability and hydrogen storage capacity (6.2%). However, volatilities TOL MCH accumulative byproducts make it difficult to transport hydrogen. Considering these limitations, we developed a new strategy introducing an extraction column pressure swing adsorption with heat integration reduce required energy utilities. Furthermore, comprehensive system-level analysis was conducted through application example from Australia Korea. minimum cost determined be $2.17/kg-H2 via techno-economic analysis. Sensitivity uncertainty analyses revealed influence economic process parameters. Finally, life cycle assessment compare environmental impact (EI) each part. Although dehydrogenation more energy-demanding than hydrogenation, hydrogenation has larger EIs for some factors including fossil resource scarcity (13% larger) water consumption (746% larger), due makeup. compared changes in sources. This study can provide insights into optimization decision-making supply chains revitalize economy.
