Lithium-ion batteries have emerged as a promising choice for electric vehicle applications. However, the thermal runaway and related catastrophic issues perplex research community when are subjected to varying charging/discharging different ambient temperatures. In order keep under safe zone of temperature, battery management occupies utmost importance hence researchers switching over combination either two or three strategies. combined strategy, use phase change materials due their inherent thermo-physical properties, both organic inorganic types been explored. To enhance heat dissipation, materials, regarded composite being added with graphite powder, nanomaterials, metal foams, fins arranged cells. The present review enumerates recent progress made in achieving good performance hybrid/integrated systems an emphasis on materials. revealed that hybrid strategy is performing well, machine learning advanced optimization methods applied understand state health batteries. Few works focussed mitigation propagation serving effective flame retardants. current status challenges faced LIBs also briefed.
