Biomass is perhaps the only renewable resource on planet capable of delivering molecules similar to those derived from petroleum, and one most developed technologies achieve this gasification. When it comes biomass conversion into fuels commodities, supercritical water gasification (SCWG) could offer promising solution for producing hydrogen-rich syngas. However, presence methane (CH4) carbon dioxide (CO2) in syngas negatively impact downstream processes, particularly when monoxide also required. Hence, improving quality produced essential promoting sustainability several industrial processes. In context, understanding principles dry reforming (DRM) becomes upgrading with high CH4 CO2 content, especially content low. addition experimental conditions used such process, has been reported that material composition reactor can performance. work aims at comparing catalytic efficacy Inconel stainless steel SCWG under standard DRM conditions. specific work, metals were directly as catalyst results showed using powder, increased 3.03% 37.67% while went 23.16% 51.48% compared steel. Elemental structural analyses revealed Inconel’s superior performance might be due its nickel formation active oxide compounds, FeNiO, FeCrO3, Fe3O4, Cr2O3, Cr2NiO4, during reaction. contrast, Fe3O4 was found post-reaction. Additionally, increasing total gas feed flow rate shown reduce conversions, supporting known residency time efficiency.
