Reducing CO2 emissions is urgently needed to slow down the impacts of climate change. capture using an amine solution has been developed and implemented on pilot commercial scales. However, scrubbing, in particular, produces a lot degraded solvent as waste energy intensive. Solid sorbents have called overcome those drawbacks. In this work, biomass-derived carbon materials were tested for conversion. Advanced thermal chemical processes i.e. hydrothermal pyrolysis applied produce from agri-food such soybean okara. It was found that number functional groups (-C=O -OH) activated appears synthesized materials, implying generation surface oxygenated groups. Preliminary results showed carbons are obtained with good yields, relatively high area, which may be adsorption solve emission problems.
