Abstract The potential of the low carbon city pilot (LCCP) to foster enterprise green technology innovation (EGTI) is contingent upon enhancing quality urban development, improving ecological environment, and ultimately achieving objective “double carbon” reduction. Due this, this article uses data from Chinese A‐share listed businesses in Shanghai Shenzhen 2009 2021 investigate effect LCCP on EGTI. It found that significantly contributes EGTI, a number robustness tests later, finding remains valid. mechanism analysis confirms promotes EGTI by weakening economic policy uncertainty increasing firms' R&D investment. Abstract The digital economy is an essential engine of the innovation-driven development strategy and plays a valuable role in promoting high-quality regional economy. Based on panel data 286 cities mainland China with help strategic plans issued by local governments as quasi-natural experiment, we use multi-temporal double-difference (DID) method to examine impact urban innovation level. Findings show that can significantly improve After series robustness tests, such parallel trend test, updating sample period, repeated placebo innovation-driving effect generated remains significant. This study investigates how the digital business environment affects firms' innovation input variables. It was discovered that digitization leads to ongoing corporate optimization, which improves effectiveness of innovation. One institutional factors, digitalization, increases redundancy government subsidies on businesses' investments in also helps eliminate duplication investment through financial and protection legal rights. With increasing marketization informal framework, degree R&D lowers while human resource grows. Digitization not only grade innovation, but it has a negative association with duplicate nature commercial investments. The authors' research combines theory development establish new empirical foundation for order boost efficiency.
