To study the spillover effect of digital economy development on carbon emissions, this innovatively constructs different spatial weight matrices, based 2011–2020 panel data covering 30 Chinese provinces, and it explores direct spillovers, conducted spillovers from channels, such as human capital, service industry development, information emissions through Durbin model combined with a mediating model. The results show that there is significant heterogeneity in development; terms regions, eastern region has highest average level central annual growth rate. Digital can directly suppress also indirectly by driving technological innovation optimizing energy consumption structure, exists effect. Under significantly negative. Regions same are more likely to exert emissions.
