Purpose This study aims to investigate the relationship between corporate environmental responsibility (CER) and risk-taking in Chinese A-share listed companies from 2011 2020. It seeks understand influence of CER on behavior explore potential moderating factors. Design/methodology/approach A quantitative approach is used, using data over specified period. Regression analysis used examine risk-taking, while considering variables such as performance aspiration, enrichment contextual Findings The findings indicate that positively influences with significant impacts information asymmetry reputation. Improving energy utilization efficiency is an essential way to save and reduce emissions. This article collects data from 3,164 samples in China uses the SBM-DEA method calculate efficiency. Then, we construct DID model based on China’s New-Energy-Demonstration-City (NEDC) policy test impacts of local government intervention (EUE). The following conclusions can be drawn. Firstly, NEDC still significantly improve EUE. Secondly, heterogeneity analysis shows that beneficial for enhancing urban EUE, whether traditional industrial bases or non-traditional bases. impact greater. promote EUE eastern cities high economic development areas. In contrast, its central western low areas insignificant. Finally, mechanism through structure adjustment green innovation.
