Over the past three decades, energy and economic growth have been joined by enormous environmental pollution growing global concerns. It is necessary to check factors' effects impacting CO2 emissions decouple from for biggest emitter China. This study uses logarithmic mean Divisia index extended introducing electricity substitution factors (i.e., activity, population, intensity, overall, generation structure, efficiency, fuel emission factor effects) then combined with Tapio's decoupling method analyze drivers, states sectorial years 1991–2020. The findings show that: (1) population activity are main driving in increasing adding trade structure effects. (2) Decoupling presented two through effects, showing that expansive negative dominant. shows both an return scale. (3) Individual indexes long-run variations relationships between them, which means industrial adjustment will help mitigate sustain development. Finally, based on empirical findings, results suggest more ambitious targets emerging low-carbon technologies could rapid decarbonization of China's sector.

Development of a low-carbon power industry in the Yellow River Basin is crucial for developing "double-carbon" strategy.
