Anaerobic digestion has emerged as an increasingly popular method for the effective management of organic waste and wastewater with potential to generate renewable energy. However, efficient depends heavily on complex diverse microbial communities mediating this process. This review paper delves into microbiome that exists within anaerobic digesters, playing a critical role in sustainable conversion biogas. Its primary focus falls scope how various operational environmental factors, including temperature, pH, hydraulic retention time, substrate loading rates, presence inhibitory compounds, can substantially impact these systems. Through extensive analysis existing literature, ecology digestion, composition function community, their interactions, responses different stressors, are evaluated. By offering insights distribution patterns active populations upon alterations process parameters, better understanding dynamics systems is provided, enhancing efficiency. Overall, emphasizes importance unraveling evolution AD reactors optimize biogas production proposes future perspectives direction.
