Background Electric vehicles (EVs) are important as they decrease air pollution, lessen reliance on fossil fuels, and significantly contribute to cutting greenhouse gas emissions. The use of EVs in promoting a sustainable life reducing the harmful effects climate change is very beneficial environment public health. Objective purpose this research evaluate potential challenges adoption electric Iran. To end, set categorized, interrelation significance these examined. Methods categorize adopting EVs, exploratory factor analysis used, relationship between them rank based their importance, DEMATEL (Decision Making Trial Evaluation Laboratory) method, which Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) technique, employed. Results results statistical show that can be divided into three categories: social, economic, technological. Furthermore, method indicate most impactful follows: two social challenges, “Lack government support promote EVs” willingness resistance new EV technologies,” one technological challenge, “Immature advancement battery technologies.” Conclusion This provides insights evaluating vehicles. findings assist decision-makers developing transportation understanding relationships significance. study serves foundation for policymakers industry stakeholders navigate through complex landscape vehicle adoption.

The increasing adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) underscores the critical need for an efficient and sustainable charging infrastructure. This study addresses problem optimal vehicle station (EVCS) location selection using a multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) approach. Specifically, Entropy, CoCoSo (Combined Compromise Solution), EDAS (Evaluation Based on Distance from Average Solution) methods were applied to evaluate 25 potential locations in Altıeylül. Entropy method was first employed objectively determine weight each criterion based their variability, ensuring that more significant factors had greater impact final decision. Environmental, technical, social criteria incorporated ensure selected sites would maximize accessibility, reduce air pollution, enhance user convenience. results revealed Location_17 emerged as top choice EVCS placement both rankings. While provided consistent high-performing locations, discrepancies observed certain low-performing sites, highlighting value combining multiple MCDM methods. provides informed framework selecting offering balanced evaluation criteria, contributes growing body research infrastructure planning EVs.
