This paper is based on the research hypothesis that development of digital economy can enable urban carbon emission reduction. We use panel data 275 prefecture-level cities in China from 2011 to 2019, static panel-data interaction-effect model, and panel-threshold model verify non-linear impact mechanism heterogeneity industrial structure upgrading affecting emissions. The results demonstrate following insights. First, due industries, an increase proportion tertiary industry cannot reduce Second, has inverted U-shaped adjustment effect process upgrading, Consequently, integration achieve reductions. Finally, a double threshold carbon-emission-reduction only appears after scale crosses first threshold. As continues increase, structures likely continue increasing significantly. recommend local governments reduction by encouraging high-end service industries strengthening infrastructure.

To promote the low-carbon, high-quality development of China’s industrial sector and achieve national carbon peak goal as soon possible, this study explores influencing factors emissions among sectors. Based on panel data 36 sectors in China from 2009 to 2021, spatial effects characteristics are examined by Durbin model (SDM) based analyzing correlation The results show following: (1) Moran’s I statistical that have a strong positive correlation, with time, between gradually increases. (2) empirical whole property rights structure, capital intensity, energy structure main driving forces promoting emission reduction; grouping analysis impact FDI different sample groups is different. Among them, research play role reducing each group. (3) Therefore, future, reduce sector, it necessary inhibit growth reduction factors; optimizing improving rationality effective ways conservation reduction.

ABSTRACT Human economic activities, aimed at rapid growth, contribute significantly to greenhouse gas emissions, thereby accelerating climate change and raising concerns about sustainability, particularly in the context of United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs). The study's objectives align with UNSDG Goal 15, which seeks minimise impact human activities on environment halt further environmental degradation. This study explores structural shifts emissions Japan by examining relationship between total gases, natural resource rents, real income, population from 1970 2018. Utilising novel autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) model dynamic quantile ARDL techniques, analysis reveals an annual equilibrium convergence rate approximately 34%–36%. multivariate VECM causality system identifies significant long‐run causal relationships, indicating influence these covariates maintaining a stable equilibrium. In short run, one‐way is observed per capita squared income emissions. Long‐term findings suggest that reductions GDP, growth improved atmospheric quality. results support Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) hypothesis, confirming existence ‘inverted U‐curve’ for Japan. Furthermore, robust aligns net probabilistic effects both short‐ long‐term scenarios. By applying innovative accounting decomposition frameworks, shows changes consistently lead reduced Overall, provide empirical Japan's goal achieving carbon neutrality 2050 underscore importance adhering transformative policy measures.

ABSTRACT This study contributes to the existing literature by comprehensively analysing nexus between environmental poverty and green growth. uses augmented mean group technique explore effects of on advancement sustainable development in developing nations 1990 2023. The sample consists various countries, examining data factors, socio‐economic metrics, trade policies. empirical methodology employs rigorous econometric methods, such as Augmented Mean Group Common Correlated Effects estimators, address cross‐sectional dependency slope heterogeneity. main findings indicate that significantly hinders growth, with expansionary export policies exacerbating this negative impact. Conversely, total factor productivity, digital economy, innovation, contractionary policies, efficient use labor capital contribute positively Policy implications include need for broad combat through better waste management, environmentally friendly farming, natural habitat protection. To increase it is crucial prioritize promote maintain a balance policy. Global cooperation financial support technology are essential attaining objectives.

Abstract The complexity of energy management and policy development is increasing it necessitates the use multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) approaches to offer solutions in concern various sources assessment criteria. In this context, an example demonstrated, interval-valued circular intuitionistic fuzzy (IVCIF) AHP-integrated CRADIS methodology, evaluate consumption performance OECD nations. This article discusses six basic criteria concerning primary consumption, hydroelectric wind coal gas oil consumption. There thus a variactivation analysis among analyzed criteria; less critical share stage with criteria, including hydro category renewable sources. As discussed results, criterion weight increases for fossil fuels, whereas given coal, gas, compared other categories. are distinct differences efficiency achieved by countries. Among countries, effective strategies their implications present significant positive results case Canada, Germany, Japan, while United Kingdom France have relatively robust programs fostering practices sustainable living. contrast, dismally performing country must be Hungary, Czech Republic, Greece, Slovakia also not too promising, general profile. study underscores influence IVCIF-AHP&CRADIS approach offset assessing channel data-oriented policymaking agenda. systematic prioritizing respect will permit comprehensive understanding relative strengths weaknesses across result policy-effective outcome policymakers, as well incentive further develop energy. It one reasons certain focused on enhancing sustainability within framework.

ABSTRACT Utilizing new energy vehicles (NEVs) is a crucial trend in addressing global climate concerns. Extensive research has indicated that have reduced carbon emissions the transportation sector, but neglected their burden on power especially developing countries where coal‐fired primary source of electricity. Accordingly, this study explores impact NEV utilization electricity industry (EICE). We use China New Energy Vehicle Promotion Application Cities Construction (NEVPA) as quasi‐natural experiment and utilize Difference‐in‐Differences method to investigate NEVPA urban EICE. This presents three innovative conclusions: (1) promotes EICE, result withstands battery robustness estimations, including machine learning placebo tests. (2) NEVPA's influence EICE more pronounced cities with “right‐of‐way prioritization” enhanced charging infrastructure. (3) The scale effect natural resource dependence constitute pivotal mechanisms driving increase due NEVPA. offers strategic measures for synergize development emission management, spanning renewable advancement improved infrastructure construction.
