Abstract Green tea (Camellia sinensis) is intensely consumed all over the world and leaves discarded from production are a rich source of catechins, especially epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG). This study aimed to perform preparative separation EGCG green waste by using macroporous resin reveal adsorption desorption characteristics. Nine types resins were compared for their capacities rate EGCG, NKA-2 was found most suitable purpose. Adsorption isotherms evaluated at 25°C, 35°C 45°C. Experimental data well described with pseudo-second order kinetics model fitted best Langmuir in tested temperatures. In dynamic process, 83% adsorbed recovered 70% ethanol. It has been thought that can be an effective way commercial purposes.

Abstract BACKGROUND Phelipanche ramosa L. (Pomel) is a noxious parasitic weed in field and vegetable crops Mediterranean countries. Control of this pest complex far from being achieved, new environmentally‐friendly strategies are sought. The present study evaluates the possibility using (±)‐catechins as natural herbicide against broomrapes. RESULTS results show that have no effect on GR24‐induced germination over wide concentration range (10 −4 to 10 −10 m ), nor radicle elongation after germination, but strongly inhibit, at −5 , prehaustorium formation response haustorium‐inducing factor, cis/trans ‐zeatin. Accordingly, pot experiments involving supplies tomato plants infested or not with P . demonstrate do influence growth non‐parasitized prevent heavy infestation by reducing parasite attachments inducing necrosis once they attached. CONCLUSION This points potential use for control. It raises also question mechanisms involved inhibition application. © 2024 Author(s). Coconut meat and coconut water have garnered significant attention for their richness in healthful flavonoids. However, the dynamics of flavonoid metabolites during different developmental stages remain poorly understood. This study employed metabolomics approach using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) to investigate changes metabolite profiles from two varieties, ‘Wenye No.5’(W5) Hainan local (CK), across six stages. The results showed that a total 123 including chalcones, dihydroflavonoids, dihydroflavonols, flavonoids, flavonols, carboglycosides, flavanols were identified as compared control. content both types exhibited decreasing trend with progression, but CK was significantly higher than W5. number differed between W5 groups at 74, 60, 92, 40 54, respectively. KEGG pathway analysis revealed 38 differential involved key pathways biosynthesis secondary biosynthesis. provides new insights into highlights potential selecting breeding high-quality coconuts enhanced content. findings implications development coconut-based products improved nutritional functional properties.
