Global warming and elevated ozone (O3) levels are gradually gaining widespread attention, exposure to which may cause many physiological changes associated with cardiovascular events such as hypertension, cardiomyocyte apoptosis, etc. In addition, ischemic heart disease (IHD) is the leading of death worldwide. However, contributions temperature O3, independently or in combination, IHD mortality not well understood. This study employs a two-stage analytical protocol (generalized additive model followed by meta-analysis) explore respective associations O3 mortality, determine their possible mediation interaction effects. Our results suggest that increases 10 μg/m3 1 °C at lag01 day increased risks 0.789% 0.686%, respectively. can mediate relationship between pooled estimate 0.140%, while association 0.162%. The multiplicative effects were significantly mortality. findings demonstrate higher concentrations increase human risk through effects, providing scientific basis for synergistic management interventions.

Metal bioaccessibility is critical for health effects. The influence of sources and aging processes on metals in size-resolved atmospheric particulate matter (PM) remains unclear. Size-resolved source-emitted PM was measured this study. most varied greatly with sources, while it remained relatively stable across different sizes each source. In PM, Cu, Mn, Cr, V showed high at fine size but low coarse especially floating dust season, indicating effects combustion size. Atmospheric As Pb slight variability were lower during heating linking enhanced coal bioaccessibility. An advanced method developed to quantify source-specific risk based Percentage contributions cancer (CR) PM10 the highest industrial source (IS, 38 %), followed by aged aerosol (AA, 22 (CC, 18 %). Contribution IS < 0.43 µm; that CC µm 1.1-4.7 µm. Additionally, explainable machine learning revealed Mn bioaccessibility, likely due highly soluble MnSO4 formed through acid-processing; increased Cr probably fractions hexavalent originating from oxidation processes.

Background The association between the rapid increase in myopia among adolescents and amount of outdoor artificial light at night (ALAN) remains unclear. aim this study was to investigate ALAN adolescents. Methods Stratified cluster random sampling used obtain a sample 33,160 students (age range: 9–18 years; mean: 13.51 years) with complete data from 120 primary secondary schools across Ningxia region China 2021. Myopia defined as spherical equivalent (SE) ≤−0.5 diopters (D) least one eye, determined by automated refractometers without cycloplegia. Outdoor were obtained satellite two-year average exposure for each participant matching it their school address (home addresses not available). assessed using multiple logistic regression models restricted cubic spline (RCS) regression. analyses performed age, sex, residence, level, exercise time. Results group had higher levels than non-myopia [median (interquartile spacing): 14.44 (3.88–26.56) vs. 6.95 (1.21–21.74) nanoWatts/cm 2 /sr]. After adjusting covariates identified through stepwise regression, observed that prevalence increased 4% every 10-unit change [95% confidence interval (CI): 1.02–1.07]. Compared first quantile (Q1) exposure, odds ratio (OR) 1.20 (95% CI: 1.08–1.34) fourth quantile. RCS further showed positive nonlinear relationship ( p <0.001). Stronger effects found subgroup analyses. Conclusion is positively nonlinearly associated Controlling pollution may constitute potential strategy reduce incidence
