Abstract Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) are persistent environmental contaminants found in human tissues persist the environment, posing significant risks to reproductive health. This review examines impact of PFAS exposure on male health, with a focus sperm epigenetics. PFASs disrupt endocrine function by altering key hormones impairing motility, quality, viability. Per and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) their degradation products are a concern to human ecosystem health. Wastewater treatment plants not efficient at removing PFAS compounds thought be major source of these marine environments. The sewerage infrastructure in the UK, has over 20,000 combined stormwater overflows (CSOs). These CSOs relief values whereby untreated wastewater can discharge under permit from Environment Agency with exceptional rain/snowfall conditions. discharged 3.6 million monitored hours into English rivers coasts 2023. Concerns have been raised about proximity CSO discharges highly protected habitats. This study is first determine that concentrations elevated bay (Langstone Harbour, England) following recent sewage releases compared an extended period without discharge. Past studies have observed that BHPF induces multi-organ toxicity, however, whether it damage to male reproductive system and the specific mechanism remains unclear. In present study, mice were given 0, 2, 10 or 50 mg/kg/day of by gavage for 35 days observe its effect on organ sperm quality. The results indicated decreased count motility in a dose-dependent manner. Besides, our demonstrated triggered proliferation inhibition cell death germ cells vivo vitro. Also, reduced expression function markers cells, Sertoli Leydig indicating testis cells. Simultaneously, testicular microenvironment was found be altered BHPF, as presented with declined testosterone level local regulators.
