To protect occupants in vehicle cabin environments from the health risks of high concentrations particulate matter (PM), it is important to install air filter (VCAF) eliminate PM. In this study, we investigated filtration performance 22 VCAFs. Results showed that minimum average efficiency was 56.1 % for particles with a diameter 0.1–0.3 μm, pressure drop 33.2–250 Pa at velocity 2.5 m/s, and dust-holding capacity ranged 5.8 19.4 g. addition, as area increased 0.23 m2 0.50 m2, μm 56.7 77.5 %, decreased 96.1 62.5 Pa, dust holding 2.7 times. Furthermore, compared service life VCAF 31 major Chinese cities found varied greatly maximum 1730 h Haikou 352 Shijiazhuang. Considering occupant risks, Beijing requires VCAFs have PM2.5 least 88.1 Liaoning 97.5 %. Hence, choosing appropriate based on atmospheric environment different deserves our attention.

Previous research has widely overlooked the respiratory risks associated with cosmetic powder, a type of mixed particulate matter intricate chemical compositions, especially in context wearing masks. This study investigated inhalation posed by five face powders, focusing on both (minerals and primary microplastics) soluble components (preservatives organic UV filters). Wearing masks significantly increased risk exposure levels influenced factors such as particle size, density, composition. Additionally, different samples demonstrated irregular behavioral patterns when exposed to various human tissue environments. Soluble analysis revealed that multiple additives dissolved six body fluids, higher degree release observed tract fluid compared digestive fluid. The alveoli may serve specific target for filters due solubilization effect pulmonary surfactants. These findings importance considering assessing from powders. Furthermore, understanding interactions between particles well potential synergistic toxic effects, is crucial ensuring safety products safeguarding public health.
