Neuroblastoma (NB) is the most common type of extracranial solid tumors in children. Despite advancements treatment strategies over past years, overall survival rate patients within high-risk NB group remains less than 50%. Therefore, new options are urgently needed for this patients. Compared with genomic aberrations, proteomic alterations more dynamic and complex, as well directly related to pathological phenotypes external perturbations such environmental changes drug treatments. This review focuses on specific examples proteomics application various fundamental aspects research, including tumorigenesis, treatment, resistance, highlights potential protein signatures signaling pathways translational values clinical practice. Moreover, emerging cutting-edge techniques, single cell spatial proteomics, mass spectrometry imaging, discussed their potentials probe intratumor heterogeneity NB.

Environmental gradients can influence morpho-physiological and life-history differences in natural populations. It is unclear, however, to what extent such also modulate phenotypic other organismal characteristics as the structure function of host-associated microbial communities. In this work, we addressed question by assessing intra-specific variation diversity, environmental-associated (sediment water) animal-associated (skin gut) microbiota along an environmental gradient pollution one most urbanized coastal areas world. Using tropical sea cucumber Holothuria leucospilota, tested interplay between deterministic (e.g., environmental/host filtering) stochastic random dispersal) processes underpinning host-microbiome interactions assemblages. Overall, our results indicate that communities are complex vary environment animal hosts. However, these modulated level across with marked clines alpha beta diversity. Yet, overall showed opposite directions when comparing environmental- cucumbers, intrinsic body compartments, biochemistry composition, immune systems), may underpin observed intra-individual associated microbiomes, their divergence from source. Such regulation favours specific functional pathways play important role survival physiology host, particularly high polluted areas. These findings suggest both, host filtering underpins community assembly H. leucospilota Hong Kong.

Abstract Since their radiation in the Middle Triassic period ∼240 million years ago, stony corals have survived past climate fluctuations and five mass extinctions. Their long-term survival underscores inherent resilience of corals, particularly when considering nutrient-poor marine environments which they thrived. However, coral bleaching has emerged as a global threat to survival, requiring rapid advancements research understand holobiont stress responses allow for interventions before extensive occurs. This review encompasses potential, well limits, multiomics data applications applied holobiont. Synopses how different omics tools been date current restrictions are discussed, addition ways these may be overcome, such recruiting new technology studies, utilizing novel bioinformatics approaches, generally integrating data. Lastly, this presents considerations design studies support lab-to-field marker monitoring systems. Although much mechanism eluded investigation date, multiomic already produced key findings regarding holobiont’s response, potential advance field further.
