This study aimed to investigate the association between outdoor artificial light at night (ALAN) exposure during pregnancy and risk of preterm birth (PTB). A retrospective case-control was conducted, data were collected from pregnant women residing in Beijing, China. The level ALAN estimated using remote sensing satellite data. Propensity score matching utilized match control group. Logistic multivariate linear regression used analyze PTB. odds ratio (OR) partial coefficient (β) with 95% confidence interval (CI) assess association. total 2,850 enrolled this study. Artificial lighting at night (ALAN) leads to pervasive light pollution, affecting ecosystems and human health globally. Satellite assessments reveal widespread nocturnal illumination worldwide research indicates adverse effects. Environmental pollution disrupts natural cycles, the behavior reproduction of various organisms. In this narrative review we aimed present on effects ALAN glucose metabolism diabetes hone its recently reported association with gestational (GDM). Conflicting data exist melatonin's administration vis-à-vis glycemia, some studies suggesting beneficial outcomes for patients type 2 mellitus insomnia. Ambient influences plasma glucose, bright increasing both fasting postprandial levels. Perinatal exposure is linked later-life risks prenatal fetal macrosomia. Analyzing European in conjunction epidemiological records GDM reveals a notable probable association. Additionally, recent from China (one case-control two cohort studies) has shown that during pregnancy significantly increases risk GDM. Despite progress, interdisciplinary needed understand impact health, especially regarding disrupted light-dark cycles physiological functions relevant conditions like At present, simplest advice all people particularly women who anticipate pregnancy, or pregnant women, ensure totally dark environment sleep time.

White light-emitting diodes (WLEDs) have been widely researched and applied for their characteristics of energy savings environmentally friendliness. However, the spectrum WLEDs is quite different from that natural sunlight, long-term use can an impact on both physiological psychological health. Three strategies designed to address issue spectral defects by revealing exciton transfer distribution behavior between multiple excited states. Here, single emitting layer (SEL)-WLEDs are simulate solar spectrum, which exhibits excellent stability at operating voltages, demonstrating maintain dynamic balance. In addition, these devices accurately replicate sunlight during time periods, with a high color rendering index (CRI ∼ 90) nearly 90% coverage in human comfort region. Meanwhile, ultraviolet, deep blue, near-infrared regions were reduced 100%, 80%, 90%, respectively. These results indicate expected be used promote physical mental health those who work environments far light long time.
