Nanoplastics and microplastics in agricultural systems have raised significant concerns due to their effects on plant health potential risks human consumption. This review examined these pollutants’ origins, behavior, impacts environments, emphasizing primary contamination pathways, such as irrigation, plastic mulching, sewage sludge application. It explored the transport, accumulation, interactions of particles soil, including ability adsorb other contaminants like pesticides heavy metals. The physiology toxicity were highlighted, along with implications for food quality safety. Chronic exposure pollutants through chain posed notable humans, urgency addressing this issue. Research gaps, toxicokinetics nanoplastics plants identified, underscoring need further investigation. also presented mitigation strategies, improved waste management development sustainable practices.
