The objective of this study is to propose a new post-treatment effluents from Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket (UASB) using rapid filtration, aiming at the production water for potable reuse. final quality effluent produced by treatment gravel, sand, clinoptilolite and activated carbon associated with disinfection was evaluated physical chemical analysis, heavy metals persistent organic contaminants. Experiments were carried out in jar test, filter operation time, evaluation efficiency peracetic acid free chlorine as disinfectant all results statistically analysed. best conditions those 20 mg/L ferric chloride natural pH (≈ 7.0), which resulted less reagent consumption. use intermediate fund discharges made it possible obtain approximately 91% recovered efficiency. treated under these showed DOC <2.0 mg/L, COD <1.0 BOD turbidity NTU, TSS ammonia <0.1 total phosphorus surfactants mg/L. process PAA allowed inactivation faecal coliforms coliforms. filtration reached appropriate level urban, environmental, industrial indirect

Abstract Centralized water infrastructure has, over the last century, brought safe and reliable drinking to much of world. But climate change, combined with aging underfunded infrastructure, is increasingly testing limits of—and reversing gains made by—this approach. To address these growing strains gaps, we must assess advance alternatives centralized provision sanitation. The literature rife examples systems that are neither nor networked, yet meet needs local communities in important ways, including: informal hybrid systems, decentralized provision, community‐based management, small point‐of‐use treatment, small‐scale vendors, packaged water. Our work builds on literatures by proposing a convergence approach can integrate explore benefits challenges modular, adaptive, (“MAD”) sanitation, often foregrounding advances engineering technology. We further provide frameworks evaluate justice, economic feasibility, governance, human health, environmental sustainability as key parameters MAD system performance. Slums worldwide, from Africa to Asia, face inadequate infrastructure, fostering health crises, and hindering progress toward sustainable development goals related clean water sanitation. Densely populated slums pose significant risks due poor waste management. This study examines the link between sanitation in 10 Khulna, Bangladesh. The research evaluates 339 randomly selected households using a rapid assessment tool detailed survey, with ArcGIS aiding sampling process. Findings reveal disparities private public facing higher than semi-public ones. About 70% of have composite risk score above 50%, 40% are exposed crises. Overall, present medium-scale hazards, vulnerability. Addressing these challenges requires tackling exposure, vulnerability, enhancing access safe sanitation, reducing waterborne diseases, resilient urban infrastructure. Policymakers should invest promote education, implement action plans improve living conditions Khulna's slums.

Hydrothermal carbonization (HTC) is considered a promising technology for biomass waste management without pre-drying. This study explores the potential swine manure by comparing batch and continuous processes, emphasizing benefits of mode, particularly its full-scale application. The process at low temperature (180 °C) resulted in hydrochar with lower degree compared to process, but similar characteristics were found both hydrochars higher operating temperatures (230-250 °C), such as C content (∼ 52 wt%), fixed carbon 24 wt%) calorific value (21 MJ kg

The wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) uses a dewatering machine to separate sludge from water. resulting is used as raw material for Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF), while the separated water treated in subsequent WWTP unit. However, currently only processed into briquettes per policy and then disposed of landfills. Our investigation centers on effects carbonization temperature characteristics Initial analysis revealed that 1-day-old possesses high moisture content (87.72%) low calorific value (3.44 MJ/kg). Carbonization at 300°C significantly enhanced sludge's 12,504 MJ/kg, reduced its 60.72%, increased carbon percentage 22.76%, indicating direct correlation between both energy recovery content. Comparative showed carbonized lower temperatures (200°C 100°C) yielded percentages (22.23% 21.66%, respectively) values, underscoring efficiency higher optimizing recovery.. This research contributes developing sustainable organic waste recycling practices supports achieving Sustainable Development Goals 11 12 targets. promotes development by improving utilization WWTPs production rather than being directly study provides insight potential waste, technology, policy's role circular economy.
