The bioavailability of heavy metals in soil is a crucial factor determining their potential uptake by plants and subsequent entry into the food chain. Various methods, including traditional chemical extractants diffusive gradients thin films (DGT) technique, are employed to assess this bioavailability. metals, particularly cadmium (Cd) lead (Pb), also influenced texture concentrations solution. primary objectives experiment were compare correlate assessment Cd Pb using DGT technique across two textural classes: sandy clay loam (SCL) (CL) at contamination levels: aged contaminated (NC) artificially (AC). specific included assessing different growth stages wheat plant correlating DGT-based bioassessments with various parts stages. This study compared effectiveness method extraction techniques bioavailable fractions soil. regression analysis demonstrated strong positive correlations between methods. results showed that grown AC soils exhibited lower root, shoot, grain weights those NC soils, indicating metal negatively impacts performance. tissues varied stages, highest levels observed during filling (S3) maturity (S4) It concluded situ though was strongly positively correlated concentration stage. A correlation provides reliable tool for helped developing sustainable management strategies ensure safety agricultural products human consumption.
