Multiple stimulus responses of the novel triazine frameworks (1–2) are constructed by building block Lnx(COO)y with reaction a flexible hexacarboxylic acid 2,4,6-tris(3,5-dicarboxyanilino)-1,3,5-triazine (H6TDPAT) and corresponding rare earth nitrate under solvothermal conditions. In similar condition, we successfully introduced 1,1′-[1,4-phenylbis-(methylene)]bis(4,4′-bipyridine) dichloride (pbpyCl2) into pores obtained compound 3. The effect addition amount pbpyCl2 on framework structure is discussed in detail. Compounds 1–3 characterized elemental analysis, infrared spectroscopy, ultraviolet thermogravimetric X-ray powder diffraction. Based excellent fluorescence sensing properties compounds 2 3, also explore nitro investigate their mechanisms. results show that has best response 2,4,6-trinitrophenol (TNP) 3 sensitive detection ability p-nitrophenol (PNP) p-nitroaniline (p-NA).

The growing demand for food has led to an increase in the use of herbicides and pesticides over years. One most widely used is glyphosate (GLY). It been extensively since 1974 weed control currently classified by World Health Organization (WHO) as a Group 2A substance, probably carcinogenic humans. industry academia have some disagreements regarding GLY toxicity humans its effects on environment. Even though this herbicide not mentioned WHO water guidelines, countries decided set maximum acceptable concentrations tap water, while others ban crop production completely. Researchers around world employed different technologies remove or degrade GLY, mostly at laboratory scale. Water treatment plants combine it alongside other pollutants, cases achieving removal efficiencies. Certainly, there are many challenges upscaling purification due costs lack factual information about their adverse effects. This review presents that from 2012 date, detection methods, challenges, future perspectives.

Abstract BACKGROUND The degradation of organic pollutants, such as p ‐cresol, is a challenge for natural mechanisms, and semiconductors are useful photocatalysts to restore water quality. This work investigated the effects neodymium (Nd) niobium (Nb) doping on structural photocatalytic properties titania (TiO 2 ) under ultraviolet (UV) irradiation. RESULTS X‐ray diffraction (XRD) results displayed formation anatase, TiO (B) rutile phases Nd/TiO Nb/TiO compounds. Rietveld analysis estimated composition phases, well crystal size each crystalline phase in samples (<43 nm). sizes morphology powders were observed using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) scanning (SEM). Energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) (XPS) confirmed presence Nd Nb dopants ‐based photocatalysts. Nitrogen adsorption/desorption isotherms revealed pore between 5 11 nm, surface area values up ~81 m g −1 . diverse compounds showed excellent removal efficiency ‐cresol UV light (10–30% faster than commercial ‐P25). CONCLUSIONS synthesis method favored incorporation structure. specimens higher response samples, possibly result synergic [anatase (B)], (≤ ~80.47 ), nature dopant. Photocatalysts with better performance demonstrated good rate after 20 h. © 2024 Society Chemical Industry (SCI).

In this work, the effect of electro-assisted Fenton (EAF) process on bacterial community a moving bed biofilm reactor (MBBR) for olive mill wastewater (OMW) co-treatment with urban (UWW) was investigated. According to metagenomic analysis, pre-treatment by EAF, while removing total phenols (TPHs) up 84 % ± 3 and improving biodegradability OMW from 0.38 0.62, led emergence genera in MBBR (R2) that were not detected under conditions without (R1). Indeed, condition, Candidatus Competibacter replaced Amaricoccus as dominant denitrifying bacteria. both cases, composition matched high simultaneous nitrification-denitrification efficiency (up 98 %). Finally, Chlorobium (2.5-4.1 %), sulphate-reducing bacteria Geobacter 1.6 0.4 anaerobic utilise iron oxides, observed exclusively EAF application, suggesting potential development new integrated microbial electrochemical systems.

In this study, eco-friendly and sustainable alginate-activated carbon (Alg-C)-based beads were synthesized characterized for the adsorption of nonylphenols (NPs) from aqueous environments under various conditions. The surface characterization, functional groups, behavior analyzed using multiple analytical techniques. effect key parameters, including dosage, pH, temperature, reusability, evaluated. Isotherm kinetic studies revealed that process followed a pseudo-second-order model aligned with Freundlich isotherm, indicating heterogeneous surface. exhibited high removal efficiency 97% over five reuse cycles in 50 mL solution 10 mg L−1 NPs static conditions, demonstrating their recyclability. Thermodynamic analysis suggested potential electrostatic interactions, supported by positive Gibbs free energy values. highest performance was achieved within 90 min, capacities 0.10 to 0.39 g−1. Additionally, Alg-C remained stable across different pH levels, highlighting robustness. When tested wastewater samples, maintained efficiency, no significant matrix effects observed. These results underscore as promising elimination contaminated water sources.

The activated carbon was prepared from single use surgical masks (SUSM) by hydrothermal method, resulting in a synthesised material termed SMAC. physico-chemical properties of SMAC were analysed. XRD pattern showed the amorphous nature, FT-IR spectrum displayed characteristic peaks polypropylene, zeta potential analysis revealed negative surface charge, SEM fibre morphology and XPS results confirmed presence oxygen, sulphur compounds. adsorption analysed using 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) 2,4-dicholorophenol (2,4-DCP) aqueous solution. linear nonlinear pseudo-first order, pseudo-second Elovich, intraparticle diffusion, external diffusion models isotherms with Langmuir, Freundlich, Temkin examined data. kinetics isotherm have better fit compared models. fitted order (0.9987 & 0.9962) Elovich model (0.9964 described process leading chemisorption fairly than physisorption. Langmuir maximum capacity for 4-NP 2,4-DCP 89.46 141.88 mg/g, respectively. Further, thermodynamic study explained that onto is an endothermic reaction. Among two regenerating agents (HCl NaOH), 0.1 M NaOH favoured desorption (46%) (40%) recyclability studies 67% 64% removed after third cycle, conclude efficient adsorbent phenols economically viable.
