Atmospheric
deposition
is
an
important
source
of
heavy
metal
in
soil
and
the
use
dust
collection
cylinders
a
traditional
monitoring
method.
This
method
has
limitations
agricultural
areas
because
polluted
particles
may
become
resuspended
eventually
deposited
into
these
cylinders,
leading
to
overestimates
amount
atmospheric
soil.
To
address
this
concern,
we
propose
that
frequent
snowfall
can
help
suppress
local
resuspension
fresh
snow
serve
as
efficient
surrogate
surface
when
collecting
samples.
investigate

samples

collected
from
sites
surrounding
smelting
plants

industrial

China.

results
revealed
concentration
cadmium
melted
ranged

0.03

μg/L,
with
mean
values

μg/L).

Abstract
Heavy
metals
(HMs)
contamination
in
soil
by
anthropogenic
activities
creates
human
health
and
environmental
issues.
The
economical
effective
extraction
of
HMs
from
polluted
is
high
demand
for
green
sustainable
development
prospects.
Electrokinetic
remediation
(EKR)
a
viable
environmentally
friendly
technique
to
remove
contaminated
soil.
However,
the
efficiency
EKR
inadequate
due
limited
working
traditional
electrode
materials.
Recently,
it
has
been
revealed
that
advanced
materials
(Adv‐EMs),
including
nanomaterials,
porous
materials,
polymers
2D
EKR,
3D
auxiliary
systems,
play
critical
role
enhancing
removal
efficiency,
over
past
few
years,
considerable
attention
paid
them.

Herein,

progress

summarized.
