AbstractA simple, quick and environmentally friendly microwave-assisted synthesis method was developed to produce MoS2 nanoparticles (MoS2NP) for the preconcentration of thallium. The characteristics synthesized MoS2NP were validated by x-ray diffraction (XRD) scanning electron microscopy (SEM). determination thallium achieved with based a flame atomic absorption spectrophotometer (MoS2NP-PM-FAAS). In this review, the principles and characteristics of solid-phase extraction (SPE) are discussed. The categories nanomaterial-based adsorbents namely metal/metal oxides, magnetic nanoparticles, silica-based two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterials (NMs), polymeric nanotubes, semiconductor NMs, nanoporous materials along with their features discussed followed by evaluating synthetic strategies. Finally, application sorbents for preconcentration drugs, pesticides, heavy metals in biological, food, environmental samples is assessed. Overall, future SPE techniques expected to include advances downsizing, automation, selectivity, sustainability, integration other analytical techniques, resulting more efficient effective sample preparation procedures a variety applications.
