The extraction and utilization of sugars from readily available cost-effective sewage sludge increases the economic potential this residue, contributing to sustainable urban development. work presented here presents a novel method in which can be directly extracted following an ultrasound + thermal–alkali pretreatment. best results indicated that by subjecting 240 W for 20 min, followed alkali digestion using 6 mL 2 M NaOH solution at 48 °C 60 it was possible maximize yield crude sugar (34.22 wt.% dry) with purity 46.80%, reaching efficiency 99.84%. Response surface methodology used optimize yields based on experimental data, value 34.67 dry when employing exposure time 12.5 min 57.5 min; these were considered consistent data.
